Speaking of Tequila! I tried the newish 1800 variety ‘Cristalino’ and it’s pretty damn smooth, especially if tried next to 1800 Silver and 1800 Reposado.
Also tried this Jefferson’s bourbon called ‘Ocean Aged at Sea’. I’m sure it’s part gimmick and part me telling myself I tasted something for the price but it was good with a hint of salt.
I’d have to recommend Maker’s Mark. I like to dabble as much as anybody, but I always go back.So after a stint with tequila, I am back to bourbon. However, given my uncultured pallet, I am enjoying Makers Mark with an ice cube.
I think it mixed so well with Old Fashions that I just got hooked on it.
Any recommendations for a guy hooked on Makers Mark?
I'm starting to appreciate good tequila. It does take a while and i'm still not convinced there is anything amazing to it but my old boss started me down this road with his bottles that were around $200.For tequila, my go to is Pepe Lopez. It mixes well with everything, it burns like battery acid, works as an engine de-greaser, only cost $6, and you'll be lucky if you're not blind the next day. I can appreciate expensive bourbon but tequila has always been a mystery to me.
Currently drinking Elijah Craig and 1792. Both very affordable and very similar flavor profiles but 1792 is significantly more pronounced and EC is just damn smooth.
Fixed it for you. Grammatically correcter. If you were hiding bottles of booze in different places to nip on them without others knowing, that would be of concern....but forgetting where you put them, chalk it up to old age and I can relate! Just in the last week I've "misplaced" my office keys, my wife, and the key fob to her Highlander!
