So lately my mom says her 1999 is way bouncier than it used to be. They got Bilsteins installed in it in June (not sure exactly which ones) and it already has a torsion bar crank + rear spring lift and 33-34” tires.

She says it started just a few weeks ago, and it does seem to get rather bouncy at higher speeds under just the right conditions.

I took it for a spin and did the hit-some-curbs test and drive-off-road-at-various-speeds test and nothing in those conditions feels at all wrong. It actually is surprisingly smooth on dirt considering how much stiffer the Bilsteins are on pavement.

Everything looks to still be bolted up tight.

I’m thinking it’s just the damping rates not quite matched to the springs. But I’m also wondering if the shocks broke in and the damping rates changed since install?

Your thoughts?
