Someone chopped both my Cats at my apartment complex. I figure my options are the following:

1) Insurance claim to get OEM cats... 3-4k
2) out of pocket aftermarket Cats (anyone have recommendations?)
3) I'm all ears to other suggestions

I have another vehicle so not in a huge rush. I plan on keeping the truck another 5 years.

That's rotten. I'm sorry for your loss. I'm running straight pipes, but I'm not sure what the emissions laws are in Arizona.

@CruiseLanderAZ - wtf, stealing 20yr old cats...geeze. What are your cross roads...just for curiosity sake, not that it much matters for thieves. Does your complex offer garages? Maybe shell out the extra, since they'll certainly reloop to check on the new ones.

How did you find out? By starting up and going WinTF?

May want to cross post to csc to give folks a reminder.

How in the world? Cutting exhaust piping is LOUD. I can't imagine it was done at night. Someone must have seen something.

PM'd you... I'm not on CSC would you mind giving them a heads up? For those without a garage, not sure what we can do except skid plate with tamper proof bolts or a Cat Clamp

It is shockingly common. Welcome to the big city. Walker has been the best of aftermarket in my experiments in cats. They are $265 each on Rockauto

Sorry to hear that. Happened to my old 4Runner when I lived in a hoodish neighborhood in ATL. I came out in the morning, none the wiser, and cranked it and was pretty shocked by the noise. Figured out what happened and took it to a local place and got a new one installed. Afterwards, I bought and installed this product to prevent it from happening again CatClamp Catalytic Converter Theft Prevention Lock

Look at Magnflow High Flow Cats. I just put a pair on my LS swapped LX450, and they are great and around 100 bucks each

You'll need to match the collector diameter and find a shop you trust to install them.

This happened to me a few years ago, was super bummed at first but in the end, $500 deductible and my truck got brand new factory cats. Easy bolt on, actually made money by doing to work myself in less than an hour.

Did you have any issues with insurance going up? Another thing I'm afraid of is them coming back for round 2 in a few weeks after fixing it. Do you think they'd chance it?

I have a pair of factory cats/piping in great shape from my 01 lx that would bolt in. I would need your old header flanges, but I would sell them cheaper than your deductible. Im in the NW valley, let me know if you are interested.

Time to move to a better area bro, lol this is something that happens in the projects.
I always thought Scottsdale was an affluent town. In my experience thieves target nicer communities because they know the payoff is greater with cameras, computers, ipads, cash, diamond-encrusted monocles, etc., left in the cars.

I guess if you were to steal cats, the cruiser is the easiest one to steal from. They're high enough that you can just crawl underneath and sawzaw it out in seconds. Used cats are worth some money, we sell them at my shop after replacing it for a customer. Some honda accord cats can fetch us $60 each.

Thanks for reaching out - sending you a PM

Wow, that sucks! I'm in Gilbert and have two cats off a Toyota Century that you're welcome to have, they just need to be welded in.

For the U-Haul fleet we started welding rebar cages over the cats in areas where they get stolen a lot.
