Does anyone have any experience with the Borla exhaust system designed for the 80? I've been looking at it as a replacement for my factory exhaust. It looks like it is a good quality product and surface rust should be minimized. I am not looking for any performance gains out of the exhaust, just need a good replacement.

I like mine. It was on there when I got the rig, so not much to compare it to, but it sounds cool and looks bling-fabulous. The only issue I have is I feel a little more exhaust-conscious when I'm wheeling. I've crushed the under-the-frame part of the tubing and smashed the exhaust tip up a little, but no big deal. The only downside I've noticed is that all my exhaust gaskets are shot and leaking. I fixed the cat gaskets, but the rear gasket in the Borla system is leaking too. Probably all from the hit that smashed the tubing on the frame, so not really a Borla issue. Overall, I like it. If I was replacing it, however, I would probably have a muffler shop route the pipe out of the way a little more for offroading clearance.

I don't have the kit, but I do have a borla muffler with 2.5" pipe and love the muffler. It's a custom setup that tucks the pipe up very nicely in the stock-like location. A local shop did it.
no rust on my borla after 3 years.

I have had one for several years. The "can" is smaller than stock and tucks up better. The tail pipe is not-at-all trail worthy  . I cut mine off and had it re-routed.

Like Steve said, it sounds really good, but it does get in the way. The real reason he is "exhaust-conscious" however, is he looked under my rig.

on my second one. The first one had two hangers break. Borla replaced it free. After the second install, I had a muffler guy install some additional braces. Solver the hanger problem.
