A couple of photos of my last projects. Dual Battery set up. Yellow Top Optimas, Sure Power Isolater, #2 marine cable, soldered marine connectors, heatshrink, The things on top of the batt terminals are slick little connectors for your acc things like lights, CB, sat radio etc. These are really cool as they allow for attachment of wires and don't clutter up the terminal bolts. Place for 4 wires. Washer relocater kit from Christo. The Optimas are working great so far.

12 volts in the rear again

Finished the wiring. Three switched fuse pannel from West Marine, six fuse sub pannel from same, seperate 12 volt outlet for fridge (15 amp) and a nifty battery indicator to keep watch on the voltage from #2 battery.

If you need a project, try a supercharger. Nice setup

Forgot about the two extra 12 volts on the pass side front seat. Fused for 10 but they go to 15 ea.

Looks like you'll need to get together with desertdude or WildYoats.:D

Call me slow but you lost me on that one.:o

You're not slow, it's just that I'm a little dumb.

When I saw the pics of your rig and mods so neatly done to it it immediately reminded me of those two guys with their rigs with their mods, looking spic and span clean.

Out of curiosity, what route did you use to get the power back to that panel?

Very clean install, nice work:cheers:

Did you source the terminal additions at West Marine as well? I like the idea of leaving the posts themselves less cluttered. What guage wire are you running to the rear fuse box? Why run a seperate wire all the way for the fridge? and what guage for that? I ask, because I don't know chit about wiring, not because I question the decision. I currently have a fused(15a) 10 guage wire running to a dual West Marine outlet in the back for my ARB, and from what I read that was enough, no?

FYI- I ran an 8G wire to the same location where I have a 6 position fuse block. I ran the 8G through the firewall on the passenger side. There is a blank rubber "thingy" tat I cut a small x into and ran the wire through it, it is then in perfect position to run down the passenger side rocker/sill area, next to an OEM bundle of wires. It was a easy, clean way to run it.

My old fridge is less than 6 amps, and the newer ones use less, it sounds like you should be good with your setup.

Thanks! I was thinking I was fine, but it's good to hear from someone that knows more then I do.

Any reason everyone seems to run their wire down the pass. side? I went straight from the battery into the drivers side fire wall and down that side since it was the most direct route. I can see if you have a dual set up going down the pass. side but I have seen more then one pic of someone running a wire from the maine battery along the engine side firewall and into the pass side and wonder why?

That might've been my pic. I did it because it was easy to run across the firewall, there was a blank rubber thingy to run it through, I planned to terminte it on that side of the rig and I plan to add a second batt some day. No real need to do it that way, just what I decided to do.

FWIW- 10G copper is rated for 15 to 55amps, depending on the application, according to several websites (I only assume they are correct).

How about putting a 60 series body on? ;)

I'll second the question about the battery terminal doodads, were they sourced a West Marine? The are sharp.
