Gonna take a look at the kings. Haven’t ever even been to cars and coffee and don’t see one on my schedule moving forward.

Beauty of living remote like we do, I get to drive 3.5 miles of gravel, washboard roads every time I leave.

We have plans of exploring the SW and SE when work allows and there are plenty of off the beaten path roads here in Oklahoma and neighboring MO.

Not a fan....

These have an internal bump stops and your shock mounts are not designed to take that type of load. It's a gimmick that could have less than desirable consequences on applications like a Landcruiser with their single shear lower shock mount.
Good to know!

About to pour a bunch of Evapo rust in the tank, old fuel pump removed and after O’reillys for 5/8 fuel nipple for pump and some o rings and copper washers I’m ready!

However, stupid question here. No arrow on the electric pump. Instructions suck and mention arrow that isn’t there. Which side goes towards carb?

Was filter in it when you bought it?? Filter should be between tank and pump.🤔🧐🙂
New filter which I replaced is in place, of course I went to Oreillys and got 5/8 brass fuel nipple to hook up.

I told the nice older guy more than a couple times 3/8 fuel line and I didn’t check. Get home and it’s a for 5/16th.

Have to help dad fix leaky faucet while tank is getting its rust treatment. Only put 5 gallons at first, rotating it around today since if I filled it up I wouldn’t be able to do much.

It’s all progress and I’m having a good time on day off.

is getting a blade out that expensive?
County does it every now and then. I have small leveler on small tractor and I can knock out a mile or so. Outside of that, it’s hit or miss.

It’s just part of the experience living out where we do.

Some reason with us being only ones for mile and half until our property county doesn’t make us a priority.

There’s a reason we don't own a fine vehicle. Of course I don’t one either. What’s finer than a pig!!

nuthin'

brings back memories... the 'rents built a home where the final 1/4 mile of road was gravel. Built out two bedrooms in the basement for their young adult sons.

my brother and I would hit the gravel bit doing 50mph or more just to raise dust. More is better, right? ... until mom complained about the amount of dust in the house and made us clean it.

Jamie and I got married in the living room of that house.

It’s so dry here right now it’s a waste of water to wash a car. I’ve spent more washing Bonnie the last month then all my other cars combined for last year.

When I drive home no one can follow due to the amount of dust gets kicked up, it’s like thick fog.

Let tank sit with Evapo Rust for around 5 hours. Nice thing is you recollect it, if you want to do it again you can. Would have liked to leave it overnight but with work tomorrow that wasn’t an option.

Rinsed tank out twice after draining the evapo rust.

Peaked inside and it’s a very noticeable improvement. Blew out tank with air and got all the water out.

Hopefully I can put it back in Bonnie this week before we leave to go see daughter at CSU next weekend.

Went out to shop to snap pics of the tank and it needs some more rinsing for sure. All the fine rust has collected on the bottom, prior to it settling with what little water I could get out the metal looked almost like new.

Sadly not sure when I can do it again within next two weeks. Probably load it up again early one morning before work. Come home and rinse the bejeezus out of it.

Another mudder has had great results with the Ironman foam cell shocks. Anyone have experience with these?
I had a set on my ‘79, they were fine but pretty expensive for what they are (wasn’t aware of internal bump stops). I’ve got Bilstiens on my 40, I’d recommend if you’re not looking to spend King money.
