Sorry folks, been a crazy weekend and continued into today. Finally back home.

The clamps I reordered didn’t arrive on Friday. I drove all the way out to pick up the correct size clamps and they were both 1/4” the wrong size. F’ing frustrating and waste of time. I pick up the right ones tomorrow.

While I was out the next batch of turbos arrived. I need a few days to prep but these will start rolling out this week.

The first transcontinental package arrive on the wrong/east coast. Although UPS did their best to rain on the parade, it’s looking like everything came through in tact.

For those on the bench, or waiting for theirs to get shipped.

The
Turbo
Is
Huuuuuugeeeee

I’m 6’4” and fairly built, and admittedly had just got home from arm day; I found the size and weight of the Bog Warner to be extremely satisfying. I’m happier than when I first played with a set of double d’s. Great work Joey!

I’m looking forward to burning some leave and turning some wrenches!

I picked the turbo, just saying... send pics of double d's to me not Joey. :flipoff2:

Well I’m right now bashing my head on my desk.

Picked up the clamps and they only had one size ready to go. So I have the clamps for the turbo side of the downpipe but not for the cat end yet. Another day another aggravation. I’m going to go ahead and send this out to those that are missing so we can get a little closer.

And did you get the throttle/accel cable heat wrap? I don't see that.

A/C line wrap is on. 👍🏻
Throttle cable wrap, I don’t think so. Was it the same type as the A/C line?

I took it for a 60 second spin around the block. There are stop signs at each intersection, so I don’t think I had enough space to really let it spool up.
I did hear valve “clatter” sounds when I smashed the pedal. Not sure if that’s what people call “pinging”? Could that be a timing thing?

Joey, a quick Q about gauge adaptability.
I’m doing the 14in1 display kit.
Shop said oil pressure, or temp, can’t remember which they said, plumbs into the adapter at the stock oil pressure gauge (peace pipe), the other gauge needs a sandwich plate adapter between the block & oil filter.
Can you confirm only one aftermarket gauge can be installed to the peace pipe? It’s buried under engine & cant see it.

No, it was two 2ft pieces of InsulTherm.

Make sure the timing is set to factory 3º

As to the sound, I'd have to hear it to know. Video would help.

The Oil PeacePipe has three outlets: one for the OEM sender, one for the 90º AN-3 fitting that feeds the turbo, and the third is for an optional oil temp sender that I supply but you can use whatever you want so long as its 1/8NPT.

I am a little confused why the shop thinks they need a sandwich plate between the block and filter? They could get temp and pressure from the peace pipe. Unless the 14in1 has a specific requirement for one of them.

Yes, I recall a bag with some black hose looking stuff coiled up, that must be what that was for the cables.

I recently checked timing via my ScanGaugeII. Jumped the diagnostic pins & it read 3 degrees. Video would be good, I’ll see how well the sound records to a phone while driving.

So they must want to place the oil pressure sensor into a sandwich style plate at the oil filter. I’ll have to track down that part. All I’ve found so far are posts about the Ford Racing 90-degree oil filter adapter.

Joey said his peace pipe has 3 ports. Oil hose, stock sender gauge, & oil temp gauge port.

It sounds like I need a 4th port for a pressure gauge. So the sandwich style adapter. Unless I’m not understanding.

Well, an option is to drop the cluster's oil pressure gauge for an analog pressure switch with dial. But I'm not 100% sure the ECU is NOT using that info somehow.

It looks like this is what my shop was looking for, under $40, should work-it shows comparable with our engine.

Back to regular turbo scheduling. I probably should have asked this in the thread about gauges, but maybe it’ll help someone else out too.

There is a lengthy turbo gauges discussion thread going on now. I'll post it as soon as I find it.

@jjdeneen918 a thought on the chatter, because the angle of the intake is away from the turbo (my marks on the photo) the hose clamp could be touching the air filter canister and basically chattering against it. This happened early on with Test Mule #3

If it wasn’t for the trans-go kit, guages, & my shop wanting to wrap the main engine wiring harness as it comes through the firewall, it’s basically done!!View attachment 2080092View attachment 2080093View attachment 2080094View attachment 2080096

Although it LOOKS clean, I would be frustrated by all the hose clamps that are all pointing down and away because you cannot get to them with any tools unless you remove EVERYTHING. Hopefully none of them work loose or were slightly loose to begin with.

Just my opinion.
