body lift

I'm pretty stubbornly DIY so when I learned of the boat trailer roller option (thanks Lowtideride) I went with that.
I simply got 2 12" long 2 1/2" diam. poly boat trailer rollers, ($20 local) and cut them into 1" tall sections with my miter saw. They are yet to be installed as I got derailed by an urgent honey-do request, but they should work very well when I get around to getting them in. Folks say you don't need new bolts in some places, but on my rig, I forsee replacing all 12 with 1" longer through-bolts. I also see needing a few big washers for added support to the poly/rubber blocks, as well.

I put a 2" Roger Brown body lift on my 60... it worked out great.

Just be aware of the hard fuel lines that are connected to the top of the fuel tank that are connected to rubber lines that are connected to the hard lines that are connected to the frame. These can bend and crack/break when you lift the body without disconnecting some part of that system... Broke mine and the 3 hour job turned into a 5 day job. I had to drain about 14 gallons out of the tank, drop it and replace the hard lines at the top...

Any of you guys got picks of the body lift? I was thinking about it too as I have some tire rub.. even with my OME.

Could have been 3-4 hours once I found/uncovered the body mount bolts. It's really a very simple job, and I'm no master mechanic. If you wanted to take longer to do it RIGHT then that would be up to you... ;-)
What I mean is that this could be an opportunity to clean up the body bushing cups, body mount brackets etc etc. One could certainly find a lot more to do while this is in progress... but it could be a very easy and fast process... certainly not more than a day park the truck start to tools put away finish.

Here's my 60 with the 2" BL, a 3" SUA lift with a shackle reversal and my 33" street tires (I run Q78 swampers on the trail - about 35" tall). The rear quarter sliders have not yet been raised to match the lifted body... the rocker sliders have. I'll look for photos of the install process....

I reckon it took myself and my mate about 6 hours to do the bodylift. Its fairly straight forward, but some mods need to be done (at least for the 2" BL). I moved my radiator shroud down 2" and had to trim around the transmissio tunnel at the back of the transfer case lever. Also the bumpers need to be lifted.
