Bobbing a LWB KZJ / LJ78 Photo added

Hi All

Quick question, has anyone bobbed a LWB KZJ /LJ78?
To make it a 4 door......With a little tray.
Pictures would be good if someone has.
I have seen one with a roof chop.
If and when my rear end gets trail damage I am going to get out the can opener and do some trimming. Those curved rear windows are $$$$$ here in NZ.
Something like this.

i have seen one in malaysia

YEs it used to be a comp truck (LJ77 at that point) it was in 2004 RFC and got whacked a lot poor thing. they lopped it out of the middle after the rear wheels and then stitched the rear doors etc back on .

You can use thick perspex (12mm+) for the rear side windows or do what I did and use alloy 5 bar plate 3mm or 5mm is fine and rivet it in flush no need for the fancy curved window I will dig up a pic of it. Yup they are expensive even here they are $130 USD each.

you are right cicak , it was RFC competiton LJ .

Any pictures of it anywhere ???

YEs will try and find.

Take your 78 and from the rear side window (vertical) start remove until you get to the start of the rear door curve. they cut basically the whole window out and stitched the rear cabin back onto the cabin so they had the rear doors etc still usable looked quite cool.

78 is COIL or LEAF? Remeber the fuel tank is under the rear also so it has to find a new home.

78 is coil. Don't really want to keep the back doors... Too heavy and want to put a small tray on back for tool boxes and stuff. Fuel tank will mount up and onto new small tray.
Photo is a bit extreme.
