I've heard that BMW 3-Series front seats fit well into an FJ60. How easy is the install? Will I need to fab any brackets?

There is a pretty good amount of fabricating needed to install them. The po had them put in mine, so I'm not really 100% sure how much. I'll take some pictures of how mine look and the railing brackets the sit on. If I don't do it tomorrow, pm me. I have s***ty memory.
If you do go ahead with the install, try adding some extra padding... Theyre great on the trails cuz they really hold you tight, but they suck if you need to drive for 3hr+.
Good luck

I put seats from a '91 318i into my FJ60. This series of BMWs is often referred to as "e30" which might help you if you start looking on CL.

Here is the write-up:

Brackets need to be made but they don't have to be too complicated. If you have access to a welder it is a cheap and pretty easy project.

They are very comfortable. But they will sit you a bit higher than the stock seats - 1-2 inches. In later FJ60s and 62s this might not be an issue b/c the floor of the truck is different.

Hope this helps - I really like the seats. In the write-up you will see that there are "comfort" seats and "sport" seats. I have the comfort seats with less bolstering and they feel great on long drives. But that is of course relative to the old seats...
