I've been been reading tons on dual battery setups. The National Luna kit is looking better and better simply because it will reduce the number of decisions I have to make.

I'm looking for simplicity in my setup. bajaoverland.com has done a nice job of setting up simple dual battery setups - a Blue Sea setup on one truck and a PowerGate setup on another truck. Reading about their setups got me over to the Blue Sea site and I like the simplicity and quality of the product.

Their "Add-a-Battery" kit looks like a nice clean setup. Has anybody here used the kit?

hey pnwfj - you may have already considered the Hellroaring, but if not you might want to take a look at it.
Here's my build thread https://forum.ih8mud.com/100-series-cruisers/213363-hellroaring-dual-battery-install.html

I've had great success with it.

It's a slightly different set-up for winching, so you'll need to see if it suits your needs. I LOVE the in-cab remote switch and the fact you can combine batteries for massive winching power if needed with no engine. Lots of guys on the 80 forum also use it.

Another to consider is the Powergate - maybe better than the Hellroaring from what I read, but it's also a bit more $. I hear great things about it as well.

Just more options for you to consider if you have time for more research.

x2 on Luna. I would have gone this route had then been available when I got my isolator. Paul May from Equipt sells them and is great to work with. The Luna set up is comparably priced to the others, but I think you get more for it. I really like the two LED charge indicators for the batteries.

As this isn't specific to the 100, moving to Electronic Toys.

I have something similar. I have a VSR (voltage sensing relay) connecting my two batteries. It connects them at ~13.6 v, and disconnnects them at ~12.4v. Voltage is measured where-ever you connect it, but the obvious place is to the primary battery. So, once the alt is charging, and the primary battery is "full" the relay closes, and the second battery is now getting a charge. When the engine is off, the primary battery voltage drops, the relay opens and the second batter is now separate.

I did not wire in a switch to join the two batteries. I have jumper cables, so can connect them that way should I need to.

VERY simple.
