Garmin Tread - Anyone ? (1 Viewer)

I've been watching for GPS options etc...and came across news on the tool (Garmin Tread). Anyone in the community have first hand experience with them?

All I've done is casually look at the web site etc.

I may be wrong but it seems that this is a tool (in use) similar to your normal gps you use on the pavement. In that its not dependent on cell signal for Map data (data is built in). I assume it does not use cellular at all. (which would be a big plus...in comparison to cell phones or other devices that require cell data )

Wondering if anyone has first hand experience with this .....if I recall its fairly expensive.

I've considered their Tread too, which has the US Forest Service Roads motor vehicle maps. Its about the cost of a good drone, but I haven't put more time into researching it yet. Its on the to-do list somewhere for the truck though
