Last week everything with AC/heat was working perfectly.

Blower motor make a huge racket and stops dead.
Take the blower apart and discover that a black plastic screen from the air intakes, exterior, below the windshield wipers has been sucked into the squirrel cage and jammed the fan from turning.

I was not driving, so I do not know how long the blower was turned on while it was jammed up... and potentially burned something up.

Cleaned it all up, put everything back together, and now the blower only runs on HIGH. All other fan speeds are dead.

I have read about every post related to the subject and am having a little confusion as to what the AC amplifier and Blower Motor Resistor do and how to separate a diagnosis between the two. Also on the LX450 the locations of these parts seem to move (drivers left kick panel, steering column area, behind the ac control, attached to evaporator....). Anyone have firm location for these parts.

I am leaning toward the Blower Motor Resistor being toasted... and it looks like that is a hard to find item. What do you do when a part is unavailable?

Thanks in advance...
