not to be compleatly anal but to the guys who want one of these might it be possible to fill out this short order form. I just wanted to keep track of the number and get you guys in order of request. I should be able to get these done ( of the 4-6 that have been requested so far ) by the first of April. Anyways PM me the following if you could if i need to add anything let me know.

Date/post timestamp part was requested:__________
Quantity of part:_______________________________
Color of part (semi gloss, flat, gloss):______________
With/without gauge holes:_______________________
If with holes dimensions/number of gauges:_________

Well if that isn't the coolest thing I've seen in a very long timeI How do the gauges function? Are they compatible with the stock sending units? OP, tach, volts and temp are easy, they can swap quite easily, but I wonder most about the speedo and fuel gauge.

Wanna try this with the 62 dash? For me, I would want mine unpainted and with no holes pre-drilled.

I was going to try and do this in metal, either billet aluminum:

Stainless (engine turned):

to answer lehiguy question(s) my water and oil are mechanical no interface problem there. The speedo is mechanical so i may have to make/buy ratio + or - box for my tire/gear ratio. Certainly there are electronic speedos out there i could have used but the budget made that decision for me. As for the tach it uses an inductive pickup off a coil wire and a jumper for 4 6 or 8 cyl engines. In past ls swaps i have used tachs that use the ECM signal wire.

For Tofudebeest i could do that i just need somebodies 62 ip and truck for a little while to make the master. after that i could make a few for those interrested.

And the fuel gauge?

Quantity of part: 1
Color of part (semi gloss, flat, gloss): I think semi-gloss would look good...
With/without gauge holes: With gauge holes please!
If with holes dimensions/number of gauges: Exactly the same as yours please!

Do you need a 62 or just the pnl. I can pull my gauges for the time being if you need a panel and it helps the 62 guys out cause I would really like one as well. Unless of course you can get someone that lives close by.

for molding purposes i would just need the panel, when it comes time for fitment i would need the dash /truck

Actually, I think I've got a spare panel.

Let me check. If so, I'll send it to you and you can use it for the mold.
That way, no ones truck has to be down or without guages, and you can take your time with the mold.

Just sent you a PM.

I would like one panel for a FJ60.. PM me when you get caught up.

Are you just making a fiberglass mold?? It looks AWESOME!! I have tried that so many times and it has never come out right!!! I guess you could also make stock replacement panels, as my panels are cracked as well as the panel by the AC controls.

Got a small addition to accompany the low fuel circuit i recently finished, made a low fuel indicator best pic i have, its a milled piece of garolite (circuit board material) profile of gas pump filled w/ epoxy encasing a led. it pockets into the panel cleanly. I'll also be making a similar indicator for brights left and right turn signals. I'll post pics later this week and i'll also get to work on the panel requests thanks you guys for filling out the form. See what i can do with the 62 panel i get from OffDuty.

Elbert: i'll put you line for a panel

imabigbangkindaguy: i could attempt the factory panel but cant promise anything. i think it has a couple re-entrant pockets that may make part extraction difficult.

Cody C: I should have final install pics by next weekend

Ok cool.

I may just do away with the stock dash panel anyway. No use trying to stay stock with that as I've changed to many other things.

Let me know what size gauage you used in your dash layout (I'll go back and read the thread again).. I would like to have all my gauages (aftermarket) where I can see them very easily. Your setup does just that from what I can see.

Can you post a good pic from the drivers perpective with the dash panel installed ...maybe day and night versions?

Let me know dimisions on the gauages ... I assume 2 and 1/16 for the small ones and I don't know for the large?..let me knwo what you did..thanks. email at elbertclarke@bellsouth.net if you want to go offline on the fine print.

one other question...any issues with the speedo (connection) or the gas guage?

for the fuel gauge i used the gm sending unit kit that i will replace the stock fj unit with, as for the speedometer i havent crossed that bridge yet, guess we will see. i think i ll be able to adapt from yota to the aftermarket gauge. Elbert i'll send you an email with more specifics on my gauge setup
