Bought a 62 dash complete off another MUD member recently. The panel looks brand new...no imperfections!

Going to pack it up real well and it'll be on it's way to mwdubs on Monday:cheers:

This way, no one has thier truck down while waiting and he can take his time...mines not running anyway and I don't have the time at present to work on it:(

I would be down for a 62 panel. It isn't a simple panel like the 60. My solution was going to be reusing current gauge locations using a pyro for the tach and a new quad gauge to match senders.

If there were a way to split the stock setup reasonably, it might make building a replacement much simpler.
 
well ill be starting the first few ip this weekend as well as finishing my own. couple updates machined my turn and bright indicator, just have to epoxy in some leds and paint panel and its finished. i will post my progress later this weekend. here are a couple of shots of my low fuel circuit and siginal and high beam indicator socket.

I machined the indicators at work we have a micro mill that works well for this sort of intricate machining, i just drew up what i liked and wrote the program and viola. As for the circuit i picked all the components from digikey, i have the parts list if anyone wants to build their own. I based the circuit off a gm sending unit with a resistance range of 0(actually 3.3) ohms to 90 ohms. To be compatiable with other sending units all you would have to do is size the resistors to match your sending units range. With
a 7 month old hard to get out of the house so i do most of my work at the house. shop time is scarce these days

Ok..this is the "#$*&" .... give me a shout when you work down to my name on the wait list, so we can discuss options. I certainly am a big fan of having gauges that I can see easily day or night and this looks like the best way to meet that need.

Are you tapping off the headlight switch for variable lights?

Yes i am tapping off the dimmer. Im going to use the connector off my orig panel to supply necessary power, ground, dimmer, switched power etc. to my new panel. This seems to be the easiest way to go for now.
 
Boner city. Awesome mod. I understand the plan to simplify the 62 version as it contains three AC vents and the double din stereo surround. Splitting it somehow would make it much easier to reproduce and thus cheaper.

I just wanted to show off my new panel from Mike. It arrived today, and looks great! :bounce: Thanks a ton for making these for the Mud community, Mike! I'm super excited to get it installed, but unfortunately I think I'm going to wait until I do my 5.3 swap, so it's still a few months out.

Thanks dude, on the small holes my 2-1/16" hole saw died so i had to use a 2" and open the holes some with a dremel. Hence the reason for them being a little out of round.

I hope to be sending a couple more of these out soon. Let me know if anyone else is interested.

what are you guys doing to connect the Toyotat OEM speedo cable to aftermarket Speedo Guage?
 
I was just staring at my Autometer gauges and contemplating how in the heck I was going to mount them. Can I be added to the list of buyers? I've got a hundy burning a hole in my pocket...

With holes as you did with your own and in black, please. I'd like to texture it to match my new Tuffy console, but I think I'll have to do that myself, right?

This is awesome I was looking into to doing the exact same thing if I can't piece together a working instrument cluster!

as far as the texture goes, I think ill let you handle that. I have been sending the panels out sprayed with a black sandable primer. I scuff them up before shipping so all you have to do is apply the required finish and your good to go. All i really need from you now are the diameters of your gauges (required hole size) and outer bezel diameter to make sure you wont have any clearance issues.
