I was literally thinking today I'm gonna spray paint both the bumpers black and I came across this thread. I think it looks great with the plastidip instead of buying heavy ARB bull guards or body shop spray. I'm stuck in the middle for now.
The nice thing about Plastidip is that it’s cheap (when compared to bumpers) and reversible.

I just plasti-dipped them while on the car. I was a little excessive with the taping, but you get the picture. Taping took more time than actually painting :D

Never used plastidip myself. I'm assuming you can easily just wipe off the excess on the vehicles paint, and around the logo after each coat?

Considering doing this for my recently purchased '05. How's it holding up?
better than expected . It has some wear and tear but not enough to make me want to redo it. Over all happy with the end results. I do not treat it softly, pressure wash at car wash, scrub brush etc. Its holding up.

Here’s mine. Flat black plasti-dip. I’ve been considering top coating with the plast-dip glossifier that supposedly adds UV resistance and I’d like to get a bit more of a semi gloss appearance out of it. I started it to cover the gold trim, but I’ll likely do all the chrome in it eventually. Easy to remove for “painting”. I put down no less than 4 coats.

Looks great! Do you have a link to the plastidip you used? Went to the website but was a bit confused by all the options.

Also, did you take your grill off when you painted it or simply put something behind it to catch any excess?

Thanks in advance!
