Damn nice stugeon! I like thst extra can too! I used to have an 85, extra cab, solid axle but carb’d. Just needed fuel injected. Was a good truck.

Truck's looking great Devon, it's sure come a long way since that Whipsaw trip! Hope you'll be able to bring it out this year.
It's disturbing how right an 80 looks on 37s...

I hope that the fires don't keep us out of the woods this year Norm.

Sorry not Tony. My real life name is Devon. Just the regular steering wheel that the truck truck came with.

Wow - another blk 450 guy who was all of 6'6" (I'm a shortie @ 6') had it then. :meh:

It was a smart idea IMO, smaller diameter wheel. It looks just like a FZJ airbag wheel, just ~2" smaller diameter.

Is he in your local crew? I never thought to ask, he just had that 'local' thing, had BC plates & realized I never asked his city now in hindsight.

Are you tucking those 37s, Devon? Or are your bumpstops keeping you from rubbing the rear flares at full stuff? Any modification to your firewall for clearance out front?

My neighbour who used to have an 81 and likes my 80 told me after seen Devon's truck - your's looks like a gentlemen's cruiser (I'm fully built) and Devon's looks bad ass. The 6 inch and 37's is very cool looking

I haven't had a chance to fully tuck the tires to see what hits or rubs yet. We had a bad summer last year in the okanagan. Dry conditions and a full back country ban due to fire rush put a huge damper on our wheeling season. I also get very busy at my shop and don't have much extra time. I did install the Slee bump stop spacers and the Slee front radius arms move the axle forward.

A couple of updates on my LX450. I added some 05 Subaru buckets to replace the worn out factory seats. The base of the subi seats are wider than the factory seats. I had to build custom brackets for the seats and I’m happy how they turned out.

I’ve had a bit of vibration in the drivetrain show up when accelerating to highway speeds. I ended up replacing the worn factory engine and tcase rubber mounts with OEM replacements. It’s amazing how much the factory mounts collapse over the years.
I also checked the rear driveshaft joints for play. Nothing really out of the ordinary, but after 278000 miles I replaced them with OEM joints. My vibrations have all but gone away.

I also ordered a 4x4labs rear bumper with single swing out. Welded up the main bumper and got a ton of ground clearance and protection for the back of my big bus. I’m still working on my swing out for the spare tire.

I also welded a winch plate to my ARB bumper for my Warn 9.5 ti winch. It’s nice to have that recovery piece on the front of my truck.
