This one may be of interest to someone here: http://www.outbackimports.ca/consignment.html#c3

I sent him an e-mail, and this was his response:

i had this bj for 1 year & 4 months and a doctor had it before me for 17 years and he had a total body job on it so yes it had holes in it he replaced drivers floor board and the other was good he had the body greased on a regular basis and since i had it its been oiled 4 times.new fenders and bumbers front and rear has been replaced. also the moter and transmision runs great no leaks or burning oil. ihave some offers on it but not enough to convence me to let it go. i would like to replace it with a good pickup.thanks for your reply. i hope it gives you more insight

I'm still interested in obtaining one of these cruisers, but this one's a long ways away from me.

It's near where I live..
BUT!
Why would I spend 8000$ for a non-turbo-ed cruiser when I can have one imported for let's say.. 2000$ more? And the imported one would have less km's not to say less winter on it..

If you're a Canadian, I see your point. However, us Yankees can't really get our hands on one of those turbo right hand drive cruisers-can we?

if it is as nice as he says then that is a good deal, as far as i am concerned and i do like the 2 tone paint job...
for the State boys this might be a good deal...

Make sure the frame's in good shape. Otherwise sounds like a nice unit. Firewall looks like there's a bunch of oily deposit on it...but maybe I'm just used to the clean JDM ones. :D I like that fact that it's stil factory, even down to the original radio. Looks well cared for. $8k CAD is a great deal on a BJ70 in good condition.

Yeah, I noticed that oily deposit too. He just sent me an e-mail offering more photos, so I'm asking him about that and accepting the photos.

Indeed! Either the owner is rustproofing with bunker oil, or that bad boy has had serious head gasket issues! (or maybe it's been converted to run on molasses?) I have to tell you that if I were selling the thing...I'd have it steam cleaned and then spend a full weekend cleaning under the hood.

Purely for the purpose of comparison...no bragging here I swear...

I'm thinking he means greasing the chassis and oiling the underbody. You know, to keep those rust demons at bay. :D

Just wait til that JDM starts to rust. You'll be wishing you had oiled it too... LOL although it may be in 20 years

Damn that is clean Moose. I'd lay my burrito right on that engine for cooking ;)

I wonder if he blew an oil gasket on the filter? A buddy had an oil change done at a shop, and the engine quite when almost home. Opened the hood and the right side of the engine and firewall was coated in oil. Low oil pressure shutdown saved the day. Might the same thing have happened here, and it was never cleaned?

Holy Cow! That's a clean engine bay. Looks like the whole thing was plastic coated. The Japanese restaurants here love to display plastic coated food that they offer. Maybe they got to your Cruiser before it came to Canada. ;)

Hope you find like me a BJ70 for less than 3K $ Can.

with only 230 000Km on. Only very few rust.

At this price, I don't care about body job and paint. More pics this spring.

That truck is in the Autotrader for Ontario, not sure where forest is.

That is a very good price for a CDN cruiser, as long as the body job was a good one. That's my disclaimer. I had a cheap body job on my 1988 CRX and it only looked clean for 1 winter. I wonder when he did his?

David*BJ60, You got very lucky! It is very hard to find someone that doesn't know the price of their cruiser, especially a 70. I've seen s*** boxe 70's going for $5 - 7 K.

Just as a compro this guy, in Toronto, with a body job is asking $19,500
