jup, its a 1981 JDM cruiser. the BJ44V (V means Van, or in other words has a hardtop) was made next to the BJ44 softtop version for the Japanese market only, as well as the BJ41 both soft and hardtop and the BJ46V hardtop. The BJ46 can be found in europe ( mostly France) as well but only as a softtop. :)

Dat is een zeer mooi Cruiser!! (Man, how I've forgotten my Dutch!)

I can't wait to see the finished product.

@ austin: "dank je wel!!!! :)

@ caper: this floorliner is the one that came with the car, its the original one, just needed a good brush with some soap.

Sor has oem floor liner but for a redicilous price, guess its no longer available from toyota..

good job

The BJ46 can be found in europe ( mostly France) as well but only as a softtop. :)

thanks baas,

must say I'm keeping an eye on your thread as well... looks great!!!, your 42 is my other love... :) hope you don't mind me looking at your girl...

Nice work Folkert, really love your attention to the details, that is a great looking cruiser :clap:

It was a nice sunny day here in the Netherlands, so cleaning up the windows and the weatherstripping was the perfect outside job.
I used a razor blade to scrape the 30 year old dirt from the windows, and cleaned/refreshed/maintained the weatherstripping with a some soap and rubber/plastic refreshing product. Fortunately the weatherstripping was in perfect condition except for 1 ambulance door... the only dried out one. Need to find a replacement for that one.

All the windows were still factory originals as you can see by the info etched into the windows.. ;p

I'm glad the weatherstripping of the BJ44 specific window was still "as new". might be recently replaced by the previous owner... although, the whole cruiser is in great condition, so these might be 30 years old as well.

Alstubleft meneer. SOR has door seals if you need them.

Again, great work on the truck!

Very nice

update after 3 weeks of not posting to my blog or Mud.. I've been busy sanding the hardtop panels and the doors, then I started welding the lower CCOT door panels on 2 doors, was a thrilling job for a welding rookie, but finally I managed by trial and error.. :)

see my blog for the whole welding process (19 pics): bj44.wordpress.com

Ok guys, here we go again...
had been busy the last few weeks, but found some time to work on my rig..

the hardtop panels were prepared and painted in both epoxy primer and single stage beige 464

prepared the doors for painting and also gave them a final layer of paint.

assembled all the parts i painted by now, still a few days of assembly to go, like the doors (mechanic, weatherstripping etc).

after that the only thing I have to do is the roof and gutter, and the rims. (16" OEM toyota spoke wheels will be painted white)

see pics for an impression , will post them all on my blog BJ44.wordpress.com

catch ya later!!!!
