The oil filter relocation sounds like a great idea
What kit did u use?
As for the break booster I think that only applies to the RHD land cruisers
I have already converted mine to LHD so should not be a problem since it was never a problem in the bj70
The front crossmember might have to be moved or modified in some way
Will have to see when I drop my engine in there.
And yes I think we are aiming to run electric fans to save space
Any other info would be great
Thanks for the heads up on the oil filter relocation. Kit

thats pretty sweet looking im going to have to definitely look for one of thoughs :)
im going to check out my truck and let him know about the brake lines and tell him about that oil filter relocation kit

Heres a pic of my trans/ t-case x member.
Its an advance adapters part. Actually meant for a 40 series using a chevy v8.
The hole pattern for the back of the tcase needs 2 or 3 holes slotted a bit to fit.
I used some 4x4 1/4" steel box with a gusset welded inside and welded the supplied mounts to that.
Two 3/4 bolts per side through the frame rails with 1/8 plates on the outside to prevent it from collapsing the rail. One day ill take it apart and weld in some proper sleeves for the bolts. But no issues so far.

over head view of frame

thats about it for this week
tomorrow is cleaning frame for painting
i hope next week body is back on and waiting for engine to come back :D

awesome build! this rig is gonna be a killer!

i hope i dont sound like a dick here but about your rear links. the top links should be almost parallel with the ground, no? looks like the axle is gonna climb under the truck and cause some major wheel hop?
hopefully im wrong :p
good luck

Nop not at all
Always good to ask questions :)

The answer I got was this

The uppers terminate behind the center line of the rear axle. Basically nullifying that issue. If the uppers and lowers were terminated in front of the axle center line then we would have an issue. Hard to explain but if u run an imaginary line through the termination points and accept that as level the links are where they should be.

Hope that helps :)

Looks the goods man.
You might not like the steering feel on those high steer arms though. If you.look at the length of the rear stock arms, youll see what I mean. I had mine made quite a bit longer than any others on the market and the steering is really nice. You may find that system too quick for any kind of road driving. But it.may be ok since you have a shorter wheel base.. just to be aware of it.
Looks good though other wise

The high steer has not been installed yet and the steering box has to be moved back some more to get the proper angle , so that should happen Today as well as the hydro assists steering.
I hope it works out too lol
Will see when I drive it lol

Thats why I went with chevy y-link system. It shortens the drag link by about 4-5inches and pushes the bottom end forward an inch or so. I also moved my diff foward an inch. The drag link is now only about 2-3 inches forward from the tie rod at the steering box. This also compensated the shortening of my panhard by 5 inches, now only about 2 or 3 inches difference to the drag link instead of 6.

hey guys a bit of an update on whats going on

hight of rolling frame
a bit high right now might lower it 3" with the coilovers will see when its all put together
but for now here it is

frame is finally rolling

front strut mounts

rear strut mount installed and welded

hope u like for now
hope next week body is on but will see

Well finally got the body mounted on the frame seems like we don't need body spacers but the body is sitting 1" higher then it's will be
And with the coilovers seems like we will be able to lower it 3" to so I was happy about that

Now time to start putting her back together finally lol

Hello, What a neat car!

When you changed from RHD to LHD. Did you replace the whole firewall? I should start doing the same thing (LJ71 to LJ70) and
I could use some advice. I tried to look at the pictures but I didnt see.

thx

in these 2 pics shows what we did
we didnt want to cut the fire wall so we just measured everything seems like the fire walls are the same just have to cut out the spots needed for the brake and cluth and what ever else was needed for the conversation hope these pics help a bit

Great build!
Just out of curiosity, how long will the fresh paint keep rust away? That is not an issue down here, so it amazes me when I see you Canadians talking about frames rusting away in a ten years! It would be heartbreaking to put all of that effort into a build and have it rot.
