This is what I run on stock wheels.
+1. I have 60K on them and though they have plenty of wear left, I will likely get another set this month before a long trip in June. They have been great. If there is noise I don't notice it.

Those KO2 looks nice, have you ever tried to tow a trailer? I am looking to get a set before I road trip this summer where I will tow a Airstream Flying cloud (about 4000lbs) I have a '08 with stock wheels as well.

Been happy with them. Have only done light towing to include a boat that's +/- 5k pounds.

What kind of MPG hit did you guys take on the 275/70's? is the speedo off by much at hiway speed?

Oem sized tires will read a couple mph low at frwy speeds. Lt285/65r18 read within 1 mph.

I currently have LT275/70R18 and am seeing the speedometer read appx. 3 mph low at freeway speeds up to around 85. Verified with a couple gps apps.

Didn’t notice a significant mpg difference switching from an E rated all terrain in lt285/65r18 to Lt275/70r18. Maybe even gained a little going with the narrower 275 width.

There was a noticeable 2-3 mpg hit switching from the stock size to a heavier E rated all terrain.

@TLC2013 nice! I only had stock tires on my 200 for about 1 week. but I was getting about 16 mpg with mixed driving. now average 11.5 on km3's. I'm going to make the switch to ko2's in that 275 size. Its a little taller and a little thinner than my 33/12.5/18 KM3's. I doubt MPG will get any better, but the ride should be smoother/ quieter with this thinner and lighter tire. I already have 1 275/70 that is basically new laying around from a past build. I really like the width of the 285's, but the cost jump per tire from 275/70 to 285/65 is quit a bit. I think $75 per tire last i checked.

I know you are asking about the KO2, but I have the 275/70R18 Toyo AT3 on an otherwise stock truck (no lift, bumpers, sliders, rack) with factory wheels and recently got 15-16 mpg going from San Diego, CA to Prescott, AZ and back. I like the slightly narrower profile and the extra sidewall that this size provides. Slightly noticeable power loss and very slight rubbing somewhere at full lock but these are minor.

Switching from the MT to AT should make a noticeable difference in both ride quality and mpgs. Curious to hear your report.

Couldn't agree more LT285/65r18 are way over priced. I switched from the general grabber atx in 285s to the kenda klever rt in lt275/70r18 and saved over $100 a tire. I like that the kendas run wide for a 275 tire. Doesnt look noticeably narrower then the old 285s. Juries still out on the kendas but So far so good on road with slightly more road noise then the atxs. Ride actually feels a little softer with the kendas. Off road should do better then the atxs, digging the tread pattern and sidewall. Have a trip planned in a couple weeks to get them aired down and dirty.

@TLC2013 that tire / wheel combo looks great!

just bought an 08
been going back and forth with wheels and tires for days.

Been leaning towards putting a spacer in front to level out the rake (for time being) and run the 275/70/18 KO2s. Ive gotten 70-80k miles out of 2 other sets of them, hard to beat for an all around tire and I like the 33" height. Should fill out the wheel well sufficiently without being a super wide tire.

do you have a lift? any rub on the 275/70?
I just put 275 70r18 KO2s on my 2008 with stock suspension and wheels. Zero rub at all, but they do sit pretty far in the well without spacers. I am switching the tires to an 18x9 with a 12-25mm offset and lifting so change is coming soon so I am not too worried about it. I did put the 275 70r18 on an 18x9 with 12mm offset and got some good rubbing pre lift. My mechanic said that should be worked out with the 2" OME lift I am about to put on and maybe some minor trimming.

@UTswmer: how’d it work out after the lift? Pics??
