Tire rack and Discount are the same company?

I used Discount for years until I was fed up with their BS, at least around here. I used Tire Rack now and interestingly most of the shops they recommend for installs are Firestone.

As for cause, vandalism is reaching, especially trying to tie it into the Tesla thing. Easily could’ve been a curb rash that blew when the tire heated up.
Iirc DT bought tire rack a couple years ago.

The spare on HE’s isn’t matching? Wtf.
Tip for next time: even though they are the same company I still buy tires from Tirerack. Their replacement coverage is great. Caught a drill bit in the sidewall of a Pilot Sport 4S, took a picture, they cut me a check and reimbursed the replacement cost no questions asked. Not as quickly gratifying as buying through discount but I also don’t have to pay for replacement certificates.
Unfortunately true. The spare on HE’s has the same wheel as the base. Stupid, but true.

I think it has to do with the wheels being installed at the port? And also, yeah….cost savings I’m sure.

On replacing the other tire with a new one, I am feeling a slight vibration while driving at highway speeds after replacing only the damaged tire on the rear passenger side. Might be the balancing on the new tire or does the fact our trucks are 4wd could cause me drive train issues in the future for replacing just the damaged side? I will have DT check thread death of the older tires today and compare with the new one.

Almost certain it’s simply the balance of the new tire.

I’m not sure I’d want to put one of those under the rear anyway. I can’t keep the rubber bumpers under there from damaging my stock wheels. If that happened to a forged BBS example I’d be quite disappointed.

Agreed.

Exactly my thought too. I would rather spend the dough on a better spare tire.

No need to replace more than the damaged tire at 4500 miles.

I would recommend replacing the stock spare tire with a better all terrain tire (preferably same KO3) if you are going to offroad your truck.
