It’s not so much about the wiper blade (yes they do matter some especially with the weird curvature of the rear glass, but not nearly as much as you think), but it’s more about the state of your windshield. A lot of times you’ll have road oils and grime that has built up and hardened on the exterior of the glass that sometimes even feels rough to the touch - like a 320 grit sandpaper. This causes premature wiper wear, noise/chatty wipers, etc... I’m a huge advocate of using a clay bar, scraping with a razor blade, polishing with a rotary buffer (optional), and lastly coating it with a quality hydrophobic protectant. I’ve had really impressive results recently with glass ceramic coatings. By far the most hydrophobic coating I’ve ever put on my windshield and half the time I don’t even need my wipers because it beads right off. My advice is to get the exterior glass as smooth as you can and then see if you really need these crazy expensive wiper blades. You’ll be surprised.
