I bought this '07 knowing it had some small cracks in the dash. Obviously it wasn't replaced under the extended warranty option.

What is the best way to deal with this? Leave as is and don't worry about it? Buy some sort of dash cover or try and source a replacement? I would guess door #3 would be very costly?

I would buy a dash second hand. spend like $400 for the one with the center dash speaker. and 300 for without. I just ordered one last week for 380.

Where did you find a dash? I've looked around online and can't seem to find one. All I'm coming up with are covers???

I'm sure it's a user error.

No I have searched pretty hard but these vehicles don't really make it to junk yards. there is a specialty place in California called Rancho. I have a commercial account and use them often. Let me know if you need help.

I wouldn't buy a junkyard dash unless I could verify it had already been replaced by Lexus. It's way too much hassle to swap in something that's just going to crack on you later for a couple hundred bucks in savings.

Have you checked the VIN history on the Lexus Owners site? If it was taken in during the recall period and noted there that it qualified for the recall, you should still be able to get it done.

My car didn't get it noted in the Lexus Owner's site, but the previous owner of my GX had sent pictures of the cracked dash to the dealer during the recall period. When I decided to buy the car, I forwarded the previous email chain to the dealer who then re-submitted it to Lexus this past January. Just last week, they replaced the dash for me.

Dealer. Not cheap $1000

There's a dealer hear me that will do $620 plus tax if you pick it up.... If you want it shipped, it's a boatload. So if you're in Los Angeles, you're in luck
