I need some advise on sourcing new Ring and Pinion Sets. I've been shopping around found the prices to be all over the board. Who do you guys trust for best price and quality??

lots of options.

Kurt at Cruiser outfitters,
Georg at Valley hybrids,
For cruiser Folk,

Almost any Ring and pinion place can get them. And I have not noticed a particularly "bad" maker of gearsets for cruisers..

Another vote for Kurt at Cruiser outfitters. Know the Land cruiser business and will help make sure you get all the items you need to complete the job. Close to you also

Randy's Ring and Pinion is the one stop shop for gears and related stuff. I like dealing with Kurt too.

Thanks!

Thanks Guy's for all you suggestions. I gave Kurt my business. He was very helpful and easy to do business with. Also nice to support a shop dedicated to our specific obsession. So 5:29's on the way with rebuild kits. I decided to add a rear mechanical locker while it's all apart. Cant wait to get my 60 back on the road.
The Run Down For all who want to know: Many months back I decided to install a cummins 6AT and paired it to a first Gen. NV4500 Trany mated to the original 60 transfer case via an Advanced Adaptors Adaptor (redundant, sorry) .
So Project Done, trail tested. Overall great off road but horrible on the road. The stock 3:73's with MTR 33. 12.50/15's robbed all the power on the road including horrible gas mileage. Better than a 2F but only by a short margin and far less than I'd expected. One the highway The NV4500's 5th Gear was useless (total loss in power) as equipped and the gaps between gears seemed very off. Having spent so much $ on a project only to discover that I have another 2K give or take to make it right seems like such a kick in the Ba__s. Cruisers R Gr8. Cant wait till it's dialed and reliable.

That said, Thanks again for all your help. Will fallow up with the out come of the project. Best regards, Cosmo

I think we need a pictures thread of the 6A installed. I've seen 4B and 6B pictures, but not yet a 6A.
