Thanks for the info. I wanted to make sure they were not leather/vinyl combo.
I believe all replacement kits will have vinyl sides and leather panels where you sit and lean back. Easy to spot if already installed by taking a picture and viewing it on a monitor. You will see the slight color differences between the leather and vinyl and grain. Of course contacting the vendor for clarification on leather content is your best bet. Vinyl on the sides allow for better stretching and fitting then 100% leather, even metric tlc kits had vinyl sides.

I am in the process of replacing both front row and second row leather from lseat.com. This is the same as seatshop.com and the same people selling on Amazon. I have an LX450 but I ordered the Landcruiser version because I could source new foam for the LC easier and it was less expensive. Either way, thefoam is expensive, but I think well worth it. The covers are virtually all leather. Very little vinyl. Basically if you can see the material, its leather. Sides, back ect. I AM VERY HAPPY with the covers. Are they perfect, no, but darn close. For $300 per row plus shipping. Killler deal in my opinion. Very good quality overall. You also get arm rest covers and center console covers.

It is all leather on the outside that shows with a nylon foam lining on the inside.

So it sounds like the lseats are very popular and good quality for "the price". What if I didn’t mind spending the extra money to get the ones with the best quality and finish? Any feedback on what's out there on that aspect?

Thanks. I did search but there was soooo much dating back a few years. I hadn't see this one. I'll read that as well.

My experience was with MetricTLC. I got the medium brown leather that matched the trim on the lx/LC. It was an excellent upgrade to a better looking interior. The light colored factory leather just doesn’t fit my taste. I think that one of the vendors mentioned above took over Metric TLCs line up. I have seen several comments about how the finish on that product aged quickly. I didn’t keep it long enough to know. I would like to find the best quality LC medium brown leather out there to use on my current 97 LC.

So I read the whole 21 page thread. Here is what I gathered:

Shane had great quality product but I should stay away from him (it seems like he is long gone anyway)
Did another company take over Shane's product? And if so who is it again?

Lseats are excellent for the amount of money you spend but they are not the best.
Sometimes they get there fast, but mostly they take a long time.
Communication is very poor from the vendor.
Are they actually in Houston? That's not very far from me. About a 2 1/2 hour drive.
Color is very close, texture is different.
There were a few feedback on long term use.

Land cruiser Heaven has the top quality stuff but pricey.

Someone mentioned Costco does a whole kit and installation. The link they provided supports that but there is very little info on there. From what I gathered you'd have to purchase first and they provide you the info on the installation shop when you get the packet. I called my local Costco and the manger had no idea what I was talking about!

I didn’t see anything about Specter with the exception of a member saying they purchased from them.

Also no mention of cruiserparts.net. My local land cruiser expert says I should go with them.

Let me please add that I am not necessarily looking for the cheapest possible way. I'm looking for the best quality as I am confident I will not be selling my truck and I'm pretty sure it will be with me for the next 10-20 years. With that said, I understand I get what I pay for and the more expensive kits will have better quality. But sometimes more expensive doesn't necessarily mean the best. So still on the fence and undecided. And now maybe a little confused!

I've restored my truck to original factory shape. Everything is good to go except for the front seats, steering wheel, and shifter. I am ready to get those done like yesterday!
Anymore feedback and input is greatly appreciated.

If money is no object, then Frank from LCH has the best product on the market.
Do your research on cruiserparts.net before dealing with them and crying in your Cheerios.

I went with Dallas Custom Steering Wheels for my LX450. See the thread below.
New steering wheel for the old LX

I sent lseats an email about vinyl content and they replied that the back side of the leanback panels of the covers (net board on front seats) is vinyl , no vinyl on the seating surfaces or sides.
Also they have 3rd row available.
There is Katzkin for LC leather but not Lx450.
Has anyone compared the headrests between the LX450 vs Landcruiser ?

Have you installed the headrest pieces yet on the 2nd row?
I am curious if they are different .

I know it's not what your asking about but I did a complete Katz kin leather kit a year ago and replaced front bottom foam. Did the recover my self, have limited backround in upolstry. Came out great would do it again.

Got these from Metric in 2007 at around 120-130k miles. Pics are of the set when new but, they don't look much different today aside from that driver seat chaf spot, and I'm at around 206k miles. I think the total cost was around $3k with the Metric kit installed by a shop around me, and I pulled everything out and reinstalled.

P.S. I use LeatherQue or what ever that stuff is and it works pretty well.

I think cruiserparts.net may be the company that carries the same as old MetricTLC, love the medium brown that I bought for my old LX, but now I’m doing an LC 40th, I’m looking at all options for best quality as well! I just put Katskin in my Excursion a year ago. Not pleased with the texture or quality of stitching on my kit from them, however it’s got a lot of vinyl on sides etc. I don’t think the shop here ordered what I asked for. That picture of the 40th kit from Katskin seems higher quality than what I have. I’m going to look into them again as well as Land Cruiser Heaven

I went ahead and ordered the front seats kit from LCH. I also ordered a steering wheel (core exchange after I get the new one) and a new leather shifter. I was told the kit will take from 4 to 6 weeks. I am planing on using an upholstery shop for installation. I was told by the shop it could take anywhere from 5 to 10 hours to install. (Although they did tell me probably closer to the 4-5 hour mark). I'll update as things progress....

Hey Pinhead, from the time you ordered them, how long did it take for them to arrive?

The covers finally arrived today along with the foams and the shifter. The steering wheel came in last week. Truck is going in the day after tomorrow. I will Post before and after pictures when done.

No. The two pieces pictured are the driver seat's. My passenger foam is in very good shape. The upholstery shop told me no need to order the passenger side...
