Probably Hankook Dynapro At/M's

I've been meaning to give props to the LTX AT2. I didn't know they'd redone the tread and I was impressed that it's not a total all season. They're spendy, but I've gotten 80k out of Michelins easy.

For ultimate treadwear with little or no serious offroad use, I agree with TM. Michies are hard to beat. I'm not saying that they CAN'T go offroad - quite the opposite actually, as many people have been in some pretty gnarly places with stock michie M/S or M/S 2's...it's just that those kinds of tires become the limiting factor pretty quickly when you're off road. Driver skill becomes much more important, as there is less margin for error.

For a little more mix of on/off road capability, I'd look hard at the Nitto Terra Grappler or Hankook Dynapro AT, both of which get excellent reviews and are relatively quiet on the pavement.

I've never been a fan of the BFG ATKO tread design, but that's just a personal thing. Many people use them and are happy with them.

I think the majority are going to say BFG A/T and Nitto Terra Grapplers.

Bridgestone AT Revo 2 - Search and you will find many happy customers.

First Gen worked well for me so I got a second set when the first was too worn for me. After 60k they had plenty of tread for normal use but I needed fresh deep tread for snow duty.

x2. I've driven well over 200k miles on BFG ATs, and almost as many on Dueler/Revos. My LC came to me with BFGs, and I am looking forward to putting the Revos on before next winter.

Check tirerack for ratings.

Cooper A/T's are pretty sweet. I've always gotten good traction off road in mud, sand, clay, over trees, etc, and they do not "roar" down the road or have a "trucky" ride to them. Very comfortable and super smooth...have that "luxury" feel down the road. In my opinion, best of both worlds. (even though I swapped mine out for some beefier Geolander's....which are much rougher and louder) I loved my Coopers.

I really like my Toyo Open Country A/Ts on the '05 in stock diameter.

This is a fantastic tire assuming you get a size that comes with either their 40k or 50k mile tread-wear guarantee. Otherwise, as in the size I run 285/75 R18, you'll only get about 20k miles or less out of them and no tread-wear guarantee from Toyo . The year before last I really put the test to them especially in Moab and they really do perform in all conditions very, very well. And you can't beat their thick super durable sidewalls relative to an AT type tire (and even some MT tires!).

And they are super on snow and ice.

The only downside, apart from the paltry tread life I experienced (2-sets worth), is their heavier weight and higher cost...

I can vouch for the Michelin LTX A/T-2 and they come in that size. I've got thousands of on-road miles on the set I have and they are quiet, comfortable, and have good handling. The tread is aggressive enough to get me out of trouble when I get too deep in sand and snow, even when pulling a heavy trailer. They are costly up front, but I expect them to wear as slowly as other Michelin's I've had and be a good deal in the long run. I'm running the standard load tire at 32 psi, not the E-rated tire.

I definitely agree, though with only 8 months on the tires I can't predict treadwear. No detectable road noise, bulletproof in snow, and very good handling for a load range E tire.

First choice is Nitto Terra Grapplers...rotated every 4-5k miles. Next is Toyo Open Country ATs......Bridgestone REV 2

I just am no longer a fan of BFG AT....too many other great tires out there.

I've been running the Bridgestone Revo's for a long time and they have always been very well mannered on road and lived up to AT expectations off road. The 2 sets I've been through on my 100 have gotten 48,000 miles and 58,000 miles respectively. The 48,000 mile set had another 10 left in them but I replaced them for a big snow heavy family vacation. I still have the 48,000 mile set un-mounted if I ever want to milk some miles out of them. I really can't imagine an AT being any quieter than they are, maybe at first but not once 20,000 miles are on them both. I can't recommend them enough personally.

I've not personally run the NG TG's but two close friends have them on their LCs and have struggled in mild snow and ice sections. Not quite sure about a verdict other than these conditions stopped them in their tracks...

One more vote for Revo 2s. Absolutely no highway noise and after 14,000 miles no complaints whatsoever.

Ive had Hankook's on three different cruisers so far and they have always served me well AT/M's and MT's.

One more vote for the Revos.
