This question is probably for a pretty narrow audience but how are those with three small kids in car seats setting up your car seats in your 100? We are thinking of putting our two youngest in the second row. We will have them on driver's side and middle. Then our oldest, who will transition to a booster seat eventually, will be in the third row.

My wife wants to be able to sit in the second row with the two youngest, which is why she doesn't want to put three kids across in the second row. Plus the second row passenger side doesn't have the Latch attachments.

How are you all anchoring a car seat in the 3rd row? I didn't see anchors behind the third row.

It's like...

I got the 100 specifically so that I could fit three car seats across the middle row. I only have two right now, but mama is baking number three and should be done in about two months. The plan is to have two forward facing seats on the outside second row seats and the baby in the middle rear facing. Just eyeballing the space it looks like it will fit fine. I don’t want to mess with the third row until we have number four. 😬🤞 anchor points are convenient, but not really any safer than running the seatbelt through the car seat the old school way.

I've done all three across the second row with two rear facing in the passenger side and middle seats and the forward facing kiddo behind the driver seat. Now two of the three are front facing so we put the rear facing one in the middle.

I haven't put anyone in the third row yet, so I can't offer much help there. I've had no issues securing the seats wit the standard seatbelts. Remember the LATCH system is only rated for I believe a combined (kid + seat) total of 60 pounds.

I'm running 2 diono rxt seats in middle row behind driver seat and in middle seat they are narrow and fit next to each other perfectly only using seatbelt to secure them. This allows to use the folding mechanism for easy access to 3rd row for oldest daughter who is in one of the seats in 3rd row in booster.

I've contemplated disconnecting the seat behind front passenger and storing in garage to similate minivan easy access to 3rd row.

Are you guys having kids fold the seats each time to access 3rd row? or do you keep it always in folded position? anyone removed it?

Looks like keeping the 2nd row passenger side seat carseat-free is the only option if you are going to have 4 passengers in the back otherwise you won't be able to access the 3rd row.

I like having the rear facing seat in the middle of the 2nd row, but it's just too hard to reach. I usually end up just putting the carseat right behind the driver's seat so I don't have to climb in and out to buckle up and unbuckle. (for those "The Office" fans, you'll know it's the safest part of the car) 🤣

Anyways, seems like you've figured it out. As you stated is about the only combo that will work.

Currently have three across but my 5 y/o is in a booster in the passenger side, rear facing infant (9 mo) carrier in the middle, and the soon to be 3 y/o son behind the driver seat. Having the booster seat makes it easy to move around and if we do a long trip I’ll move the booster to the third row so my wife can sit near the baby.

My wife isn’t a fan of not always sitting near the baby but my daughter is pretty good about helping most of the time.

I put my son in the third row for one road trip and just used the seat belt with upper anchor attached behind the seat.

We have six kids, 2 in boosters 1 in car seat. We do a booster on either side of third row and car seat in second row.

I bolted the third to our Gamaviti roof rack, rear-facing. Whoever is grumpiest that day gets that one.

My wife HATES it when she's the grumpiest... hard to cram her into that seat... ;)

So I ditched the 40 side of the second row and placed two full size car seats in the third row. This works for the 4 and 5 year old, but leg room will be an issue in the future with the full size car seats. I don’t trust them with boosters yet.

The point is to be able to have an adult sit in the second row and keep the newborn at bay on a long range trip.

I got rid of the 40 side of the second row to gain back some cargo space. You can barley fit a minimalist stroller folded up in the back now with the third row deployed.
