Looking for durability and very effective cooling.

The OEM is no longer available and not sure that would have been the best option for a stock built 2F.

What is the best quality radiator currently available?

The Ron Davis is probably the " best radiator you can buy". With a 2f I wouldn't even bother though. I flogged my 2f up to the mountains all the time here in the Arizona summer with the a/c on and stock radiator and never had cooling issues. The stock radiator now cools my 5.7 TBI When it is 114 up hills with A/C at 75mph. When it finally goes or I build the motor for more power I'll switch but I defiantly wouldn't spend $700 for a radiator on a 2f when the stock does the job perfectly and can be had for under 300$ from a variety of sources. I really beat on my 2f and It never overheated.

CSF radiator. Inexpensive and good quality and exact fit.

Next day shipping and lifetime warranty.

just get oem!!! i have ron davis and i think it has a leak. only been 1 yr.

I have not tried to order OEM radiator but I did see it listed one of the yota parts web sites. I would call Dan at American Toyota to verfiy if still avalablible. I have a Ron Davis radiator too... and I too have been concerned about a leak (have not been able to verfiy if its the radiator) just yet.

I think there may be better prices...but I purchased an radiator from auto zone for my 60 back when I first bought it...4 core , brass.

Get a 4 core brass version... The one I got from auto zone CU12 (model number was something like that)...was exact fit and well made.

So far I have not worn out a CSF all metal, welded. The one for the fj62 fits the 60 perfectly. 2 cents MIke

I'll offer up my experience with a Ron Davis rad in my 62, for what it's worth. I don't generally like to voice bad experiences on forums but I'll make an except given my experience with Ron Davis.

I sent them my stock 62 rad to copy while my 2FE was being built. The rad they sent me in return didn't fit (the core support holes didn't line up; they weren't just off the way they designed their replacement made it impossible to for them to align correctly).

Called them up. Well, we could have made a mistake (it happens, I understand). How long will it take (it took them 3 weeks longer then their 6-8 week estimate to get it to me in the first place - 11 weeks total)? Well, assuming that we messed up probably 2-4 weeks. Seriously? If they drop the ball and sent something that isn't correct they won't bump me to the front of the line? Well, they'd see what they could do but no promises. James at Over the Hill 4x4, who were building my motor, made what they sent work with a little creativity on his part.

Fast forward 2 years (maybe 15,000 miles). Rad is cracked in the top corners on both sides. Call up Ron Davis. Yeah, we've found that you often can't retrofit these into a location that had a brass OEM rad. The mounts are too stiff and it may crack. You need at least a 1/2"-1" of movement in the mounts. But we'll make you another or try to repair what you've got.

Given that I never noticed any cooling improvement from my Ron Davis I went with a good quality brass replacement. I do believe that aluminum cools better, and would consider it again in the future, but definitely not from Ron Davis.

This was only last summer and OEM was available then. Has the OEM really been discontinued and sold out in the last 12 months? Have you tried CDan?

Don't hesitate to let a reputable radiator shop re core your radiator. I did this for my BJ 60, not cheap but well done. The four tube core was actually made in Canada and the shop put it together with my original top and bottom here in WA.

For my 62 I just bought a generic made in Taiwan radiator and it has been in the rig for about 4 years now with no problems.

If you call a radiator shop you will get several options, all at different costs. Make sure they will stand behind it and pick the best option. OEM is not always better even when it's available.

I guess that's my point if you don't need a aluminum radiator I wouldn't do it. Aluminum stresses and cracks over time especially when put into such a tight fit and an application that your goal is longevity over performance. The high performance aluminum radiators are aimed at high dollar race cars, trophy trucks, street rods, sand rails, high horsepower applications, and ricers where space is severely limited. In my honda they fit the radiator so loose I honestly thought the mounts were broke but that's just how they have to install them. The point isn't to last 30 years its to keep a high horsepower engine cool under extreme stress.

Thanks for all of the repies!!

All indications are that the OEM is no longer available for the 60.

Hearing that the 2F is not prone to overheating certainly makes the choice easier by just getting a quality OEM replacement.
Looks like Radiator Barn and SOR the best choice for good rebuildable brass 4 core replacements? At least so far.

Hate to hear a few have had bad experiences on the Ron Davis'.

The CSF radiators are good and will last for years. I've used one on my FJ80 with Air in 100 +degrees all summer running air 95% of the time with no problems of vehicle ever coming even close to over heating.

did you get your new radiator yet? i am looking for a replacement as well.

Another plug for CSF. Mine is working fine.

Small gripe; the way it was boxed/packed did not adequately protect the fill neck. It got dented in transit. I was able to hand bend it and make it work.

The only issue that I have ever heard with the aftermarket radiators is that the OEM radiator cap will not fit, is that true? If so what is the best replacement cap available?

My CSF radiator came with a new cap, rated at I believe 13 lbs.
