got a little reminiscent today and found the original picture of the truck before I got it in the for sale ad, this truck has come a long way and will be getting a new engine dropped in in the next few weeks now. all my chrome up front is blacked out, I have the OEM grille back in place albeit modded in the back to fit my tranny cooler, and new tires and some more dents...

it also looks really funny with mudflaps...

started at 9am, wrapped up at 11pm and in the process got hired on as an assistant to the mechanic I worked next to today. swapped to a 1995 SBC 350 so identical truck but we had some hiccups along the way I got like 3 pics and am tired as hell and we still have to finish timing tomorrow and throw the old block in the back.

overall it was a 13 hour day and since I worked to fix it today im only getting charged for 8 hours labor :)

old bock will be rebuilt and prob converted to a 383 stroker with roller cam and roller rockers etc.

and she runs!!! phoenecian, its a 1995 5.7 out of a suburban, and Viper I still gotta feed a horse, the only ones I play with are the few hundred under the hood haha

im still chasing a code 42 and 43 for the smallblock though...heres the few pics from the day

my truck stranded me in the middle of hwy 70 canyon at 10 at night tonight because the starter died when I pulled over to eat some food and piss. I had to rely on a safeway trucker who barely spoke English to drive to Quincy and Call my house in the hopes someone would pick up and come get my stranded ass in the middle of nowhere. 3 hours later my roommate showed up and saved the day at close to 1am. in those 3 hours I removed and insepceted my starter, almost electrocuted myself, cleaned the truck of valuables to be easily unpacked and played 5 games of solitare. it was a long 3 hours...

LOL... well time for a good new starter then. Take it the fishing trip didnt happen?!

yup starter is getting installed today on the side of the road since the truck is still out there

this was on the trip home, I had 40 miles left of my drive then boom. no starter when I made a restroom break.

The reason why i drive stick shift,i remember when my starter on the hi-lux was going out it would click on occasion and it lasted a year like that it till it finally quit at work.Even then i let it roll down hill and started it .Good to know that your back on the road Walker.

yup got it done in 30 mins with a lot of cleanup and checking to make sure all tools were secured before rolling. the repair and swap was the shortest part of the day and it still took about 3 and a half hours total. hour and change to get there and about an hour and a half to get back because of my GPS wanting to take me on dirt over 3 hills in a direct route home :D (I love that GPS) and a mystery clicking noise which turned out to be a fuel line clip tapping against my driveline when I took hard turns.

this is not what you want ot be doing at midnight 40 miles from home right in the middle of an 80 mile stretch of 2 lane highway in a canyon with no cell reception...

hmmmm schemeing is going on with the machinist and I...it might involve a cruiser that I used to have and a lot of tools taken to it...

wow, busy few weeks! so the weekend of the 18th Darerll (the machinist) and I went camping and had fun met some other cruiser heads he knew from Pismo and we did lots of camping stuff. throwing axes, hatchets and what not in addition to fishing and shooting guns before some campfire cuisine. then we got drunk and Darrell tasted his booze a second time ;)

during the trip I broke my spider gear teeth and carrier teeth being dumb lol. but in the process I am no getting a brand new Auburn Limited slip diff to put in that works unlike the current one, and Twin sticks from Georg! wooohoooooooo!!!!

cant wait to get a part time locker and twinsticks. a new front bumer is definitely next!

oh and school started and I got a job with a mechanic up here and am out of a kitchen finally! so basically I will have 0 free time whatsoever once hunting season starts

Not again.

What was that you're saying about "If you are not breaking anything you are not trying"? LOL. I guess that would be coming out of your upcoming paycheck.sounds like you guys had a blast and a bit tipsy, next time give Darell a sippy cup so he won't regurgitate his dinner.LMAO

Ya something like that haha wheel it to break it and fix it to wheel it!
Not to worry though we all pulled out the booze after the puttin the keys down for the day.
Georg and I came to a trade agreement on a certain item that worked out well for both of us but the aubrun unit did come out of my paycheck.539 bucks from west coast differentials.

How do you break so much stuff? Haha

I probably just don't wheel enough. I'm jelly.

Pics or it didn't happen :)
