Berdoo Cyn - Joshua Tree - 02-16-08

First off, I'd like to say; Joshua Tree is an amazing place!

My in-laws live right down the street from Berdoo Cyn. in Indio Hills (off of the I-10). Berdoo Canyon is a mild canyon run that takes you directly into Joshua Tree and dumps you out near the "Geology Loop". Many "Off-Road Adventure Tours" use this canyon.

I've never been into Joshua Tree and thought it would be nice to take the kids up there, since we were so close.

The kids had a blast . . .

The first few are from the old labor camp. This place was a trash pit. Everything from bowling pins to computers were out there. :frown:

Isabel said "Hey! Mater is down there" (as in Tow Mater from the movie "Cars") . I think that is a surfboard sticking out of the sunroof.

Nice pics, thanks for sharing. Those shots of the kids in and on the rocks are classic. Strong work.

The kids did have a blast. They also LOVE the camera.

I can't wait to get back up there and try out some of the more eastern runs.

Nice! Joshua Tree is definately on my "short list" of places to see (other than driving down the highway).Glad you enjoyed it.

Doesn't look like it was too cold. I've heard it gets pretty cold out there this time of year.

Thanks Stan. I include the kids whenever I can. They absolutely love getting out. Their mom on the other hand . . .

My brother-in-law said there was (light) snow up there the day before. I'd say it was probably mid 60's to 70's when we were there. It was a really nice clear day.

I haven't seen Dudleys like that since I was a kid. I love that place! We go every year up yo camp at William Heise Park in October, so we never see it when the snow is up there....

x20 on the kid pics. The cave is cool:)

i dunno, that boy has the , "Can't wait till I drive dad's rig here " smile.....

good show, mate.
I went there last year and it ruled. No surfboard in the "mater" then though....

It's a pretty rare occurrence. It was like that all the way from Ramona.

He's been begging for a Trophy Kart. He wants one so bad. Those things cost as much as a used 80 Series!

If its you taking the pics - good eye! Good to see a family having fun together.

For some reason the pics aren't loading for me? Anyone else?
I don't think anyone else had an issue.

Yep, with my 8 year old banged-up and well used Nikon CoolPix. I'm actually surprised that thing still works.

Thanks for the compliment.
