^ That's part of it, and the fact that there is no way insurance would cover any of it. And I don't have time to do any kind of project myself now.

So, Taking apart the truck reveals lot's of cool surprises. I've found several things I want to address like cleaning up breathers and air lines and replacing several other items. I really wish I could spend some time with the truck but I can't.

First thing found was this leaking petcock valve, leaking coolant. There are two, one on each side of the engine block? Does anyone have an Idea what it is? part number for replacement?

Heater T broke during removal. FWIW: 2005 model year with 120K. Always garaged. Will be replacing with the MMC SS ones.

That's the T end that always breaks first on mud.

Yep, coolant drain. Left/Right. It's weird that it's leaking out the stem. And it's weird that the shop didn't drain all of the coolant before lifting the body (radiator). They work pretty well. I just slip a hose on the stub and route to a bucket. No mess.

If it's leaking then Sam/CDan should be able to get a part. If it were running, I'd just try to re-seat it, but since that's not an option you could either replace now or wait and mess with it later. They're not that hard to get to.

Speaking of coolant, would be an awesome time to replace all the minor coolant hoses.... 'while you're in there'.

Thanks for the input. I'm def replacing them while I'm in there.

Taking the opportunity to replace the heater Ts with these beauties.

What are they made of? Are they compatible with the components in the 100's cooling system?

The cooling system consists of brass, iron, aluminum, plastic, and rubber in OEM form. The only thing I would worry about would be incompatible rubber, but if you stick to OEM hoses there's no worry. Galvanic corrosion typically occurs when there is dissimilar metal:metal connections. Phenolic unions or flange kits are used there to eliminate that risk. As long as there's rubber isolating the part there shouldn't be any worries.

Stainless Steel. MMC sells them. You can just as easily and much more cheaply use brass or the OEM plastic but I figured this was a small price to pay for a solution that will outlast the truck.

Jon, great find. Can you give a link or part number?

I hope this find won't evolve into a demand by someone to supply this part to them due to the fact they don't want to obtain a credit card but that thread was a lot of fun.

Well that's the thread. :flipoff2:

I bought the 5/8" and they are a good snug fit.

Wondering if there would be substantial interest for a group buy? I'd be willing to check out bulk pricing and order them.

I'm in for a group buy if it happens this month. I'm about to go in and replace a bunch of stuff for preventative maintenance and the "T's" are on the list. I have to have it all back together by 8/8, so I'll order separately from the supplier if a group buy doesn't go fairly soon.

^ I sent an email to MMC regarding pricing. We'll see how much wiggle room they have. I'd be supprised if it's enough.

Here are a few pics of the truck from the last few days.

eeeek!

This would be incredibly fun with a basic seat/dash setup!

New frame in!

They parked this turbo LeBaron under the body because it's the "cheapest thing in the shop to replace"

Out of curiosity, how many shop hours did the insurance cover for the R&R?

I'm still amazed your insurance went this route. Did the body relax all the way when taken off the bent frame? The door looks straight in the pictures.
