I need to repaint my half doors, and I'm considering either matching the original paint, or putting some kind of bedliner on them. I wanted to see what it would look like before I did it, but i haven't been able to find anyone who has done it.

Has anyone done this or know anyone who has?

Thanks, Thomas

Before you put bedliner on your doors, consider your knees and elbows scraping against the rough bedliner surface when you are on the trail. The PO of my FJ40 put bedliner on the roll cage when he did the floorboards and it's a done deal with taking off skin if you brush against it. I was going to grind it off but I'm building a new rollcage so it's staying for now.

A higher pressure application (Line-X, Armacoatings, etc) will look much better but will be rougher on the knees. Colder apps like Rhino will look a little worse but not be so bad on skin. I would go with a higher pressure app but tell the applicator to spray the inside, but not texture it. I can be sprayed VERY smooth if the guy knows what he's doing. If you were close I could do it for ya but...... I think it'd look great with a nice fine texture in black. HTH Tim

i did mine with duplicolor spray on bed liner about 5 years ago and love it. if you get a scratch just spray it again, i have thought about doing the whole cruiser with it.

Thanks for the input guys. Actually the knees won't be a problem since the doors have panels on them, so the only problem would be the elbows.

I am thinking about just buying a spray on bedliner and doing it myself. Maybe a type that isn't as rough as others. My brother recently sprayed the lower sides of his fj60 with U-Pol Raptor liner. Does anyone know how this stuff stacks up to the other brands?

the duplicolor stuff has a fairly smooth kinda bubbly texture not ruff on the skin at all and any shucks, checker, ect. should have it in spray cans.
