WOW, when I saw the pics of the front skid and torn fenders, my mind instantly said " that truck has been launched". Best of luck with your build.

Go with SAS I'm running with a narrowed dana 60 high pinion front with 14" coilovers, dana 70 rear with 64" leaf spring, 4.8:1 Inchworm t-case. It drives, wheels, and looks good.
And Yes, there are a few things to work out but with a little research I've been able to take care everything and not cobby.

Tire size?

Even with 37s, tires pointed straight ahead, and a 6" lift you'll still be making friends with the firewall before bump as Chris mentioned. Posted pictures of 37" Krawlers on a LT setup on my FJC in my build thread on here.

I'm pretty excited to see this build!!

No shocks or springs were on it when cycled with 37s. Put it on to see how much travel we'd lose before bump. Quite a few inches and loss of steering as well.

600lb spring rate. I'd have to look up the valving in my notes as I don't have it off the top of my head. Not neccessarily useful on a 6" lift setup anyways since different motion ratios/wheel rates.

Well the steering is no problem that will be taken care of but I just can't desire what I'm gonna hold it up with.

So what do you guys think.
Coil overs,
Air shocks,
ORI's.

I'm leaning towards the ORI in the front and coils in the back.

Coilovers.

Don't follow you on the steering...37s limited your available steering due to getting into the frame and firewall on mine. 6" with less travel maybe not.

On the steering, I will set it up on a full width high pinion Dana 60 and build my wheels so that the back spacing is right to minimize that.
Probably use an fj80 gear box with my ram assist

I would reconsider the RC 6" lift and consider a 3" instead. Do some research on the 6" lift over on the blue room about them. Several guys ended up removing them and going with a 3" instead.
I have liked a lot of my RC 6" kit, which I modified to lift only 3" + Bilstein 5100 shocks gives an extra inch for front suspension. Now I have steering rods, CVs and arms like in the original position. Very good on the road. Me too! Lol

Body shop just called and said toyota said they would cover the inner fender skirt replacement. WOO HOO!!!

Wow! How did you get them to pay? Is it a totally open recall now? I am very surprised they covered it, you are lucky.

Zack

Sorry I haven't posted in a while, got really busy. Here it is sitting on 37 in boggers. About to leave for the cruiser roundup over a week ago.

Had a blast there and had a great time wheeling.

I don't know Zack, I was surprised as hell too. I do alot of business with them so maybe they pulled a few favors in to help me out.

Make sure no motor mounts are cracked....based on that fender destruction.

How does it drive?

I'll double check those motor mounts. I gave it a once over after I got it back but want specific on those.

Considering I didn't even try to balance those boggers it drove better than I could have ever hoped for.

Flexed very well and very stable. Needs ram assist which I will have to work on to offer as a product before I strip the IFS out.

Driving around it doesn't rub unless all the way to lock but flexing it still rubs so I have some work to do there.

All together I'm very pleased so far.

You can't throw all that out without pics. I've seen FJC's "flexed" on 37's, would like to see yours...
