I'm getting really, really tired of people out here taking other's hard earned money and doing bull**** jobs like this. $200 labor cost for the Flowmaster install.

I could have run a better bead with the s***ty 120V Harbor Freight flux core mig.

The entire exhaust rattles 10x worse now. They tried to say it was a loose heat shield on the rear cat and tacked it in one spot. All they had to do was lightly hit this with a closed fist to see they made it worse. They had it all day and sent it out like this.

Really pisses me off. This is why I do my own work. Now I gotta fix it.

If I were to go somewhere to have an exhaust system worked on it would be at Jim's on Central.

Years ago when I had more money than time I took my 83” 40 to Proffits cruisers to do some work it badly needed after I bought it. I thought they were cruiser professionals and I didn’t have to worry about it. WRONG! 7k later I was very unsatisfied with 75% of the work they did! Being in another state, I had to redo about half the work to my standards. They were suppose to fix my a/c (August) but I had to COMPLETELY replace siezed compressor and charge a/c myself the following spring, they relocated Evap canister within 2” of headers! Boiling gas! Etc.. etc..

My point is typically NOBODY cares more about a vehicle more than the owner, shops overcharge to do unnecessary crappy work!
Because of that specific experience,
I ALWAYS MAINTAIN MY OWN VEHICLES NOW!

I just had mine redone (on my 100) by Alton automotive up here in Santa Fe, and they did a great job for very reasonable pricing

What’s reasonable price? I’ve had Lou at Abet/ Alton do crappier welds than sandia muffler!
Like said” I could lay a better bead with my HF
flux core mig!” They also installed (at same time) some crappy header exhaust gaskets that blew out within 1000 miles! Had to redo with fell-pro steel impregnated exhaust gaskets myself that have lasted over 8 years now! Again, I won’t take my vehicles back there!

Don’t even get me started on the 7200$ they charged for rebuilding the 22R in my mini truck
That PO paid for!

I don't know where you will find an exhaust shop with someone that can weld. Good welders don't work at muffler shops. Not only that, nobody wants to pay a good welder what they're worth to weld exhaust.

$300 to redo the welds that my nephew had done for me

This shop on central east of the biopark used to do really good work cheap. Sad to see only the sign remains.
They did the exhaust on my crawler almost 10 years ago and its still 100%
I may try Jim's again now that I see the guy with the 74 Power Wagon is back there

I used that place several times when I worked a the BG. It was too easy. They did good work.

Real estate sale sign in front of Jim's on Central now, looks closed up. Maybe they moved like every other reasonable business close to the war zone

When I was there last he was talking about selling the business, but was having a hard time finding a buyer.

He's been trying to sell for a while.
