I've searched and searched and called and emailed....

For a 1999 LC.

I REALLY would like to get a 25 gallon (90L) aux tank (fits where the spare tire lives). I have this info so far:

1. Long Range Automoitive has not sold these in awhile.
2. Long Ranger would not respond at all.
3. Front Runner in Burbank, CA (4 miles from my house) no longer carries any aux fuel tanks.
4. Outback Proven in Vegas carries the 160L (with unleaded restrictor).
5. The factory sub tank is a possibilty.

So, I will be getting new rear bumper with tire carrier to free up the space. It seems my only off-the-shelf choice is in the 160L flavor. I would hate to gain the clearance of a new bumper and give it, and then some, back with the tank. I'll be getting springs at a later date, so the suspension can be tailored to my choice.....

So in order of preference:

1. Does anyone have a 90L tank with accessories they want to sell? (i'm in SoCal)
2. Get out beat-up jerry cans and run those.
3. Custom fab tank and source fill neck, etc.
4. Live with 160L clearance
5. Buy 160L and re-do bottom for clearance

Suggestions? Comments?

I usually run the desert and such, with some rocks along the way, with long distances between gas stations.

Wow - 160l? I'd love to get one of those for my new LX. The extra peace of mind would be worth the slight loss of ground clearance

I saw the install that cruiseroutfit did with one of those. For that $$$ I'd do the 160L version and clearance as needed.

Were you the guy that wanted to send a bunch of stuff overin a shipping container?

I am favoring the Front Runner 16G "tank extender" because its a gravity fed tank, and uses the existing filler etc. No additional pumps etc. There are a few around, but hard to come by. I have been researching how to import one, but shipping is almost as much as the tank.

Looks like they no longer list this on their page :-(

I have some friends in SA, might see if they can ship one to me...

I get this when I click:
WHOOPS, OUR BAD...
The page you requested was not found, and we have a fine guess why:
Intersting - this is what I get:

This is definitely on my list of product offerings for the 100 series, however the reason you do not see any current offerings is likely due to epa regulations. For this reason mine will be a water tank and if one decides to run fuel in it its on them. I also plan to make a gravity fed for the roof rack as well but this will also be sold as water storage. I'm not sure on timing for these as I have a lot of irons in fire right now but definitely in the plans.

@cruiseroutfit can you still get FR 100 tank?

I haven't tried. Any of the AUS aux tanks can still be brought into the U.S. i.e. I know Long Range and others will shop. There is a Utah fav company that has made a handful of 100 Series tanks that borrowed my 100 to look at doing a similar pass through/gravity tank... I've no touched bases with them as of late.
