Auxiliary Fuel tank for the empty space under the LX600?

Do you have a quote for install yet?

I got a parts and labor quote for just the auxiliary for $5500ish
I’m putting it in myself.
I have connections and can access a lift and can call on some of the technicians to assist in the tricky parts which will cost me but most of the labor will be me.
That quote sounds odd. The manufacturer and @LostInTranslation estimate 8 man hours. Using that (rolling in lift usage, tools, equipment and shop supplies) into the labor per hour cost and your quote is $687.50 an hour.
Sounds like they are saying no by saying yes at a very high price.

FedEx didn’t hit you with an invoice for taxes?
Correct.
Unless their process is to collect at delivery which wouldn’t make sense. They are not the upstream shipper on this as it came from FK, got put in a shipping container by FK’s shipping partner, landed, went through customs and was handed over to FedEx.
Normally when I buy international items a company like DHL will handle upstream, customs clearance and final delivery. I almost always get an invoice from DHL which requires payment to finalize customs clearance (before it leaves the secured customs warehouse)
I’ll keep you posted

Color me surprised! Looking forward to seeing it arrive. I may pull the trigger on the aux tank soon thereafter.

Man, I need to get a lift just for car storage and may do it myself. I just have so many projects.

Awesome. Let me know if you need a hand. I wouldn’t mind seeing what’s involved to see if I want to try mine myself. I have a couple buddies with shops that I could probably bum a lift from.

Adding further:

I assume the answer is no since the 'quick fill' vent connections are very similar to factory; but have you had any trouble with the gas pump clicking off prematurely?
Oakleyguy, apologies for the slow response. No issues with fill up, or early pump clicking off. In fact a bit of the opposite - while in the past I could fill much more after the pumps first clicks off (about 2 gallons if I remember correctly), now the tank fills quickly with little additional space remaining after the initially click. Also, no issues at all with the overnight EVAP system self test.

Santa (FedEx) showed up with my aux tank today.
Pristine condition, no tariff hit.
Hoping to find time before xmas to install.

I’m cross posting this in both the Auxiliary Fuel tank for the empty space under the LX600? and the FK fuel tank threads.
I reached out to FK to thank them for their excellent communication during the ordering, building and shipping phases of my tank.
I also reiterated what another member mentioned to them about the need for written instructions in addition to the videos.
While they are actively working on that, they did provide an overview photo which I’m including here. Hope it’s helpful in your installation.

Cross posting this here on top of the FK fuel tank thread.
Installation was flawless. Mine is just adding an aux tank.
UPDATE - if you are doing an LX600 it cones with the fuel pump housing assembly such that you do not have to make any modification (like you'll see in FK's LX700 video where you have to snip out part of the housing)
So if you have an LX600 there are zero modifications to the vehicle and if you ever want to revert to taking out your aux tank, it's simple.

One last thing albeit minor.
Since the Aux tank comes with a fuel filter I asked FK about replacement schedules.
They recommend 40-50k miles (same as the OEM filter)
Any filter that uses quick connect fittings will do (OEM or aftermarket) as long as they have 7.89mm (5/16 inch) fittings.

Has anyone been successful retrofitting the oem aux fuel tanks that come in the gulf states and australia?

It's on my to-do list to finish up collecting parts and designing the hangers, but some pressing honey-do items are taking precedent.

I am doing Aux only and I think one other forum member already did it and posted about it.
Mine arrives Friday and my goal is to carve out some time before xmas to knock out the install.
He already sold/traded his LX700h that he did it too.

I haven't been able to find a oem aux fuel tank for the hybrid models. Hoping once the 300 series gr sport with hybrid system comes out in Australia, parts diagram would be readily available and easy swap in.
