I've got an 1993 Lj78 with that a343f that needs rebuilding/replacing, torque converter also probably needs replacing/rebuilding. Prado/landcruiser a343f are incredibly hard to find here in Ireland and I would estimate a rebuild of the box would cost me €2k excluding the torque converter. With this in mind I'm leaning strongly towards a manual conversion. I think I've sourced most mechanical parts from an LJ70, I understand the rear shaft will be too short but ill work that. Just wondering what other issues am I liable to encounter? Electrical/wiring are my main concerns. Thanks in advance

Hello,

If you have the 2L-TE engine you need to sort out the electronics.

Otherwise, it should not be a problem.

Can you include the LJ70 engine, with the transmission, for the swap?

I just did a manual conversion in my 77. It was a massive undertaking, and I do this for a living. Parts from like seven different countries.

I'm glad I did it. But I'm not sure I would do it again.

You can see the full details in my signature.
