Hey folks.
FYI and to flag additional rear suspension options, check out the Auto-Craft Slinky coils. Several people in the 80 forum are running these, and they seem to get great reviews. There are definitely options that will work with our Hundy's, depending on load and lift height. The potiential advantages are the dual rate spring giving a better ride and overall performance, and a taller overall coil that will stay retained when using longer shocks (Icon).
I'm looking at getting a pair of the "50 mm Intermediate" coils. I will post here when I install them.

Darren from @AutoCraft Aus is an active poster on MUD, and I'm sure he will answer any questions.

A thread from the 80-series forum:

80 series Slinky/ICON Long travel suspension officially coming to the U.S.A.

Red Line Land Cruisers is the US dealer for these:

And here's the Auto-Craft Australia link:

Toyota 100 Series Kit Stage 4 intermediate 50mm lift.

I talked to Adam (@Box Rocket) about these at Cruise Moab when he got them for his 80 but didn't think they were coming for the 100. Has this changed? I even tried to do a faux order from auto-craft online to see if I could get them shipped to the US. (They wouldn't.)

Are you closer than just hoping some get imported or have to talked to someone about getting a set or is your interest just preliminary at this point?

There is no meaningful difference between 80 rear suspension and 100 rear suspension. The coils fit both 80's and 100's.
I'm getting a set through Red Line Land Cruisers out of Colorado (link above). It doesn't say "Auto-Craft," but they're the Auto-Craft coils. Red Line is their US dealer.

I don't know enough about the 80 to have known that the suspensions were that similar. I guess I had read in the AHC threads about guys using 80 coils but didn't associate that they were using them with AHC for the double lift effect.

Anyway, good luck with them and keep us up to date on how they work out. If/when I pull the plug on my AHC I am very interested in the Slinkys but as it stands am happy OEM.

on an LX470 with AHC you'll want to remove the AHC and just replace it with the suspension components you choose. Yes the 80 series rear coils should work, but shock mounting is a bit different IIRC. In the front you're looking at a different shock setup and torsion bars, unless you plan to still use the factory Torsion bars. It's also not a bad idea to look at replacing the front upper control arms for better travel and caster adjustment.

This is correct, the 80 rear slinkies are also designed to work in the 100 [and 200]

Our 100 kit gives nearly 70% more wheel travel, in stage 4.

We do afew other mods for "overlanding" the 100s here including welding the A arms to stop them cracking, re enforcing the adjuster brackets which can break, and of course the extra travel keeps wheels on the ground, and the vehicle more stable.

@AutoCraft Aus in the rear do you have your springs and icon shocks? What is in your kit that gives that much rear wheel travel?

The captive dual rate coil, sway bar links, custom shock body and shaft to maximise the travel, remote res so we can get the gas and piston out of the shock to run a better compressed length too.
