Not sure if you are interested in a vehicle with some camping modifications, but I have a 2000 LC, black, with about 109k miles. Located in Marin County, California. Life-long California vehicle, only very minor surface rust down below. I bought it with 104k miles, I think about 4 years ago, as a trade-in from an Audi dealership. I have a CarFax from that time.
Cosmetically, some bird poop stains in the paint, seats are not torn up, but show some age. Probably what you'd expect from the mileage, much better than what you'd expect from the age.
Modifications:
- Slee front bumper
- Top model Warn front winch with wireless remote
- Slee sliders
- Gamiviti rack, with panels and various cross bars and mounts
- All new speakers, 10" touchscreen CarPlay JVC head unit, new subwoofer (under passenger seat)
- Air Down Gear Up sleeper drawers
- Kaon (Australian) cargo barrier and attic shelf (Highly recommend these by the way! Worth it, even with shipping).
- Ram mount for phone
- AGM battery ~3 years old (I have a replacement fuse to make the alternator current voltage correct for the AGM which I haven't installed yet. I keep it hooked up to a Noco trickle charger because I drive it so rarely).
- Newish (5k miles?) Falken Wildpeaks (all 5)
- One of those storage things for the rear hatch
- Heater tees recently done, timing belt done at 95k, doesn't need anything as far as I know
The bad:
- I have Cascadia solar on the hood but I believe the panel has gone bad. It could be replaced, which is what I plan to do, but if you yank it off and don't replace it, the hood will probably look bad from the adhesive.
- Antenna is somewhat bent and doesn't go down all the way.
- Windows are slow. Sunroof is slow.
- Door actuators don't work if it's above 90 degrees (you can still open the door with the key). I have new ones but haven't installed yet.
- Mesh on seat back storage is stretched out. Have fancy new storage things but haven't installed yet.
- Carpet is just fair... we camp with it a few times a year and I honestly don't really clean it. Mechanically as far as I am aware it's perfect and perfectly maintained, cosmetically it's good for the age, but not a showpiece.
- I've done nothing to the suspension and I don't think there's anything in the CarFax about it. I feel like it drives great on- or off-road, but from what I've read, with the age, and the extra weight of the rack and winch and bumper and drawers, it should have suspension stuff done.
I love it and we camp with it somewhat regularly, but clearly I don't really use it much. Have been thinking about possibly selling it and getting an FJ60, the truck I grew up with. Send me a DM if this is of interest.
