Interesting comments in the article:

"Purists may grumble about the use of independent front suspension (now standard on petrol models) rather than a solid front axle, but in our view the small trade-off in off-road ability is well worthwhile for a leap in sealed road handling."

Funny, it seems everyone agrees with my accessments except the "purists". :)

And of course, this other statement:

"Off-road the LandCruiser is as capable as ever. Even straight from the showroom, there are few places an intelligently driven LandCruiser cannot go."

Sounds like they also agree with my accessment of the 100 reagrding it's ability to travel to 95% of the trails including trails an 80 can successfully complete. :)

I feel a book coming soon ( :

I do not want to invest..but I will shield you from all of the prior LC series zealots ( :

Of course, in Australian 4WD Monthly, the solid axle Cruiser won 4X4 of the year three years in a row. As soon as Toyota dumped the SAS for IFS, it got beat by the SAS Nissan Patrol GU. I can find quotes for that book if you want... :flipoff2:

Of course the old 105 would win in a "4WD" monthly mag. In a non-4WD mag the 100 would be the obvious winner. Interesting though how everyone states the IFS doesn't give up much off-road.....but the loyalists. :flipoff2: :D :)

How many of those articles are written by someone who has compared the two offroad?

I don't know about that mag, but most general car mags or the cheesier 4x4 mags are written by guys talking out of their ass...
