Oops double post

Is there a full-on kitchen in the lodge? Do we know if there is access to a bbq grill? I think that being responsible for my own breakfast and lunch is acceptable and we have shared dinners for the three nights then, right? Not everyone will be on the hook for prepping/cooking dinner, so it would breakdown to about 3.5 guys per dinner team, however that would work.

The website said theynsupply pots and pans....so I. Guessing g a kitchen...doesn't say anything about BBQ grill...but I bet at a minimum there is a charcoal grill

Yeah, not sure about a BBQ, but fully stocked kitchen (pots/pans, not food!)...linens for the beds are there too.

If the pic I posted on page 2 is our lodge house, I think there is a BBQ on a pole outside of the front door.

I'll be leaving on Thursday as well. Maybe we can get a convoy going? Can bring it up on Wednesday's meeting.
As far as food goes, I'll be bringing a fridge/freezer so can bring down whatever meat/veggies are needed. I can absolutely help with food prep for a dinner/breakfast or two.

Will also be bringing my air mattress in case we end up needing one.

Can't make this one, I'll be coming back from a work trip Friday night and have a buddy coming into town for the weekend. I also have a queen air mattress if anyone wants to borrow it, i can bring it on Wednesday.

@DC470 and I are leaving early Friday morning, hope to be there around 9:30 -10. Hopefully some of you delinquents will just be getting up by then lol

Happy to bring any extra food items or coffee and also help cooking throughout the weekend! Looking forward to this trip. Ready to test my new front locker in the Xploder

Sorry I missed a big chunk of the conversation for a few days, I disappeared to TX for a friends birthday and I have a big work trip next week. Looking forward to catching up at the meeting on Wednesday, but here goes a bit of travel coordinating. Some of you have camped with me at Fall Crawl or another event, I'm a big fan of organizing this and keeping it simple for everyone. I do this kind of work for a living.

Cost at GER: Weekend Pass (Friday to Sunday) is $50 driver and $30 passenger.

Summery of lodging (Please confirm arrival date): Updated list as of 8-4-25: 12 people confirmed + 1 tentative.
@CrabCake (1 room) - Thursday
@An3 (1 room) - Thursday
@Sargy (and spouse) (1 room) - Late Thursday
@DC470 + friend (1 room) Friday AM
@TRDdrew and @kevin in okinawa should have a room because they snore. Arrival Friday AM and Thursday

We still have 4 bedrooms / 4 bathrooms to share:
@MilkEel - Thursday?
@imperium - Thursday
@JakeisbadatThis - Thursday
@Mojo Jojo - Thursday?
@1MOA (tentative)

Lodging cost: $900/night x 3, @CrabCake paid $2,700 for the lodge. Thank you very much for this!

I propose two options:
1. Split by adult by night. If you arrive Thursday to Sunday its $250 per person (9 adults), if you arrive Friday to Sunday its $150 per person (3 adults).
2. Split evenly between everyone - $2700/12 is $225 per adult.
We can decide at the meeting on Wednesday - I'm not stressing about either option, just though that these are the two most reasonable ways to split the cost and not leave CrabCake with a big bill - again your generosity is appreciated.

Meals:
Thursday arrivals - So far three of us won't be there, but it seems its varying times, so it might be safe to assume you can handle that dinner individually. That way nobody is arriving after a long drive to cook family style for others - or arriving to a cold leftover meal.

That leaves us with 4 family meals: Friday Breakfast, Friday Dinner, Saturday Breakfast, and Saturday Dinner. We leave everything clean and ready for Sunday's departure. Pack your own lunch on the trail. 2 days - 4 meals - 12 adults. We have a team of 3 make each meals. You either shop, cook or clean. Trust the process. You stress about just ONE meal, you split the cost between 3 people and you get to relax the rest of it.

Jake and Crab Cake have already proposed meals and Lee is bringing breakfast items. So here it goes:

Team 1: Friday Breakfast @Sargy w/Phoebe @MilkEel
Lee mentioned bringing eggs and bread, I don't mind that plan. I know Phoebe will whip up a menu.

Team 2: Friday Dinner - @JakeisbadatThis @imperium @kevin in okinawa
That Butter Chicken sounds good - I can bring a ton of rice from my house to help with that meal.

Team 3: Saturday Breakfast - @DC470 @TRDdrew Jessica
Two different Egg Casseroles (meat and veggie), toast and fruit salad.

Team 4: Saturday Dinner - @CrabCake @An3 @Mojo Jojo
The Baked Ziti and Margaritas sounds like a great last night meal

NOTE: We have someone that is allergic to strawberries and doesn't eat pork or beef. I'm lactose intolerant, but I can bring pills for that. If I'm missing any other dietary restrictions just let us know.

Phew, sorry for the long post. Hope it helps.

I’m planning to get there by 6 pm Thursday evening. I’ll bring chili which will be easy to heat up and add fixins.
I will bring cornbread muffins to accompany the chili.

I was just gonna bring microwave bags of rice and have the meal pre made at home. I'll probably convoy with @imperium, the plan sounds good to me!
Hey dude, I will take care of the rice. I might even be able to use my wife’s rice cooker, which is a high honor.

Is there a fire-ring in the back to hang around? Bring wood?,what about inside, like a big common room? Any texas holdem fans? We could do a GER tournament! I can bring the chips.

I'll try to reach them tomorrow to check on extra amenities listed above...fire ring/pit, outdoor grill, common area, etc....

I'll be bringing the ziti casserole/s, Caesar salad, quiche for whenever, apple cake, Murderitas....

Just got back from the beach tonight...me and 2 friends crushed a batch in 2 days...whole bottle of tequila to start the recipe...🍸🍸🍸

Ok, just got a call from GER...looks like the owner of GER promised the lodge house to someone for a family reunion (not wheelers) for this weekend and didn't tell the property manager....he said she usually books a small cabin every year, but asked about 2 months prior to our request to host a family gathering this year. All good as they still have the space for us in cabins, just split up a little bit.

Solution:
He's going to give us 4 cabins, 2 with 3 bedrooms and 2 with 2 bedrooms
One 3 bedroom has a big porch and large fire pit area out back plus a larger kitchen with island for gathering
All have a stand type charcoal grill, sketchy firewood options, but we can harvest from the surrounding woods or bring our own.
All have bed linens, bath towels, kitchen towels, and all kitchen utensils (bring your own food and personal toiletries)
Check in is anytime in later afternoon, I told him by 4:00 that someone would be there on Thursday
Pricing...he's going to keep the price the same as if we rented the larger lodge (better deal for us!)
Pet friendly...he said it's usually $25 a night for well mannered pets, but he'll waive that for us (I may bring my dog, not sure yet).

Wheeling:
He said they had almost 350 rigs there this past weekend
This coming weekend is just us and one other small group on the trails...WOOT!

Should be a great trip!

Glad he told you before we all got down there, and really glad other cabins were available!

I can bring some firewood. Can get it from Home Depot or Lowes unless someone has some they want to bring.

Eric, Thanks for all the follow up
I can bring some firewood, I'll be able to fill the far back of my 80 (minus my spare). so we may need some more
