Hey folks, I'm moving back to NC this summer and curious if there are any regular meetups in the Asheville NC area? 1995 HZJ73, daily driver, owned for about 2 years now. It's stock except for the lift and the Equipt seat covers.. Also as a bonus, if you have recommendation of any mechanic for the 1HZ I'd appreciate it. Thanks!

See y'all around this summer onwards

Welcome back to NC. I’m not aware of any meetups near Asheville but would also be interested.

I organized - or tried at least to get folks together first Saturday of the month at a local Cars and Coffee -- turnout was dismal at best. If nothing official going on now, maybe we could try something monthly, or every other month in the Asheville area... whatever works for the group!

I am hiding out in Bat Cave…

You living in Bat Cave now SHaun?
for a while, volunteering with "spokes of hope" from SC helping manage crews of volunteers coming to help repair the area. There is still so much devastation up here

There is a guy off Sweeten Creek Rd who used to build some Toyotas on the side. Carmech Of Asheville maybe? I don't have have personal experience with them but it is a bit of an old school local shop. There are a few classic car shops on the road to Maggie Valley that do restorations and may be able to help. Or maybe out Leicester Hwy?

Looking forward for a reason to get together and talk shop. Cheers!

And just like that there are suddenly a nice handful of LC people looking to link up in the AVL!!! Please set something up at least once so you can all get together. I know @angerhater and @blumtn can spread good words about the rest of us in NC.

if you haven’t checked out upstate cruisers yet, there’s a bunch of us down in Greenville. Seems like most of the ONSC crew is further east. If you still haven’t found a reliable tech to work on your HZJ, Trollhole’s cruisers in Simpsonville can handle anything Land Cruiser. I’ve been working there 11+ years now. We do stay pretty backed up with work though.
