New FJ40 owner and just received the rear bumper(s) from ToyotaPartsDeal.com. I placed the "LH Bumper" on the left and the "RH Bumper" on the right. Why do I see so many of the rear bumpers mounted on the opposite side? Many of the FJ40 restorations appear backwards too. Am I wrong?

hint: look closely at the perpendicular angle on the tail light side of the bumper vs the curve side closet to the receiver.

Let’s see a few more pictures of that FJ40

See a quick video of the 1973 exterior and summary description on YouTube.

I plan to relocate the fuel tank to rear and replace the new-ish Bestop buckets. The goal is to keep my passenger “comfortable” and my 6’4” eye line somewhere below the top of the windshield frame.

All budget minded ideas are welcomed.

Wow, that’s a beautiful FJ40. I am adding buckets to my 67 FJ40 and I am fighting the seat height with the brackets I am fabricating. I have a both the under the seat and rear fuel tank and tool box.

There is a thread that may help and includes a seat bracket that someone was selling.

Good luck
