We installed these BMW 3 series seats into a 40 series restoration that we completed in February. They came with power and bun warmers, my favorite seat so far.

seats on eBay
These seem like they are too high priced especially since they need to be recovered but would they be a good choice for someone like me wanting cooled seats? Would they be able to be mounted somehow and they be able to be wired to work I wonder? PG

ANYONE think these would be good if I got the price down?

just got them fit today.

Are those the Procar 80 1300s?
If so, what is the measurement from the bottom of the mounting tab on the slider to the top of the bolster in the front?

Edit: Disregard. I picked up a set at Summit Racing today. They are going to work great.

I got these from a Subaru Legacy at the bone yard for $30 for the pair. One of the few models that has even sliders. Was able to use the Subi sliders after cutting the mount lugs off. Very comfy and large enough bolsters to hold you pretty well.

sorry no pics but a customer brought me some audi seats and we welded the stock seat brackets to them and they bolted right in ,have blazer seats with heat and all the power in the wifes 40

Adding Tahoe seats to my 40. I like that they have the belts integrated into the seat. I'll post some pics soon. Not bolt in at all.

Built in shoulder strap. Seats from convertible Sebring.

Guys, my dilemma is about the very limited space between the seat and the steering wheel. I want to keep it original. My BJ40 is a RHD as I live in Southern Africa, so the driver seat is on the gas tank. In the '77 BJ, the seat is fixed and I'm looking for a new setup where I can slide the driverseat back as I'm 6'4".
Any recommendation?

I'm seeing most of these seats with head rest, I never liked head rest because they hindered me from getting full rear view (or enough adequate view) when having to back down or out of trouble in off road terrain. Been in many spots where I just HAD TO SEE everything behind me when getting out of trouble.

Anyone has BMW seats installed on a 79 FJ40? Looking for ideas on mounting brackets.

I'm welding up a frame today on the drivers side, still working on measurements for the passenger side. The fuel tank is the biggest hassle.

The fuel tank is on the outside right? I have a set of BMW 135i seats that I want to mount on my own 79.

Nope.

If you dont have to fight the fuel tank you are going to be able to make up for the additional height of the BMW seats.
