Finally saw an actual ad for the new dual brusheless

They’re claiming 50% increases in output 🤯

Also, now has a cooling system:

Disclaimer: I’ll still use my M18 Milwaukee for airing up duties though. Just passing along Info
Those won't be cheap..

Yeah.

For what I paid for their current dual, I’m not all that impressed honestly.

My M18 Milwaukee Cordless portable compressor was around $200 or so and out performs the arb dual in every metric.

I’m actually gonna buy a second M18 unit to keep in the 200

I’m of the thought the ARB is is a WAYY overhyped / overpriced item for what it is/does

The connector you need is Automotive Connectors CON MP 150 3W FEM ASY (Fully Assembled); got mine on e-bay. View attachment 3767430

I wired the provided ARB switch under the hood and installed on the Slee tray. No problems, good location and access. I did wired a parallel trigger wire through the firewall to turn the compressor on, but didn't use it. I also have the AirLift wireless controller wired in and mounted under the hood for the rear air bags.
Thanks I owe you a beer. Ordered, I’m going to do this to keep the wiring clean

Bonus points if anyone knows where to get that 3-pin waterproof fitting used in harness #2 (second photo) so that I can just create a new one rather than cutting this one (even though I'll likely never use the ARB harness).

Those connectors are Delphi Metric-Pack connectors. The 3-pin is a 150 and the 5-pin is a 280 size.

Try CustomConnectorKits.com. They are not hard to crimp and wire up oneself, then you don't have splices from using store bought units with pigtails.

I don’t think the SDHQ supports the ARB manifold kit. That’s a recommended/necessary addition when using the dual compressor. It’s clearly stated to be used with lockers and airing up tires.

That would be a huge deterrent for me.
The SDHQ mount has mount holes provisions for the manifold! SDHQ also has a switch mount kit with a plug and play harness for the switch.

Regarding the DOT air brake line and fittings, I have thoroughly tested them to determine their failure point. Here's the setup:
  • The truck was running and connected to an ARB 1-gallon tank equipped with an adjustable pressure relief valve set just below the ARB's 150psi shut-off.
  • The valve was configured to pop at 149psi and reset at 100psi. This setup ensured the compressor was constantly operating under high pressure, generating significant heat.
Under these conditions, the push-to-connect fitting and airline withstood the temperatures for 25 minutes and 30 seconds. Notably, the ARB hose between the chuck and tank became permanently deformed during this test—a level of abuse far beyond what 99% of users would encounter.

For comparison, another test with a different ARB twin compressor hooked up to the same tank setup resulted in a thermal overloading the ARB after approximately 12 minutes.

Currently listed in this website with estimated availability in January. Price is listed higher, I think roughly commensurate with the 50% higher airflow. Very expensive piece of equipment, but for certain use cases it will be worth it. Probably not for my use case.

Wow!

That’s straight up huffing glue

Does it seem like they’ll still offer the older one as a “budget” option?

If that’s in AUD then it’s the same price as the current ARB compressors we buy, about $650

I’ve heard the brushless ones run cooler, which would be nice

Oh, great point. That's quite promising.

On that note…

FYI, I setup the dual in my Ram exactly how you did with the plastic press lock right into the elbow fitting into the compressor, because that’s how I did the entire system

Melted 3 different brands of line with different temp rating, fairly quickly at the elbow.

Just an FYI, be prepared for that

I eventually added their “manifold” part and that seems to dissipate the heat perfectly, no issues since

Good to know. SDHQ provided the elbow and tubing, so I’m hoping it’s durable enough, but I guess we’ll see. If it melts I may just order the ARB extension kit since the manual says that OR the manifold is required, and I don’t have any other use for the manifold.

Yeah, I have zero use for the manifold either. I’m literally just using it as a big heat sink
