Ok so I went with the SDHQ mount because I don't need a manifold and it comes with an extension line as ARB recommends. Also no drilling to make it all fit. It was kind of a PITA to install though so I hope to never need access to that fuse block underneath it. I do like the Slee design better where the accessory tray drops into the mounting brackets, but whatever.
So it's in, but I don't really have a need for the ARB air compressor switch in my cabin, since I'm not using air lockers. The ARB compressor comes with a fairly complicated set of switch wire harnesses which I don't really need (#2 in the diagram below). I'm thinking of just putting a waterproof/marine grade on-off switch in the engine bay next to the compressor and just flipping that on when I need to air up.
Anyone else done this? I *think* I just need to wire the purple (+) and black (-) to either end of the on/off switch, though I'm wondering if the ARB switch actually has a tony relay inside it? Bonus points if anyone knows where to get that 3-pin waterproof fitting used in harness #2 (second photo) so that I can just create a new one rather than cutting this one (even though I'll likely never use the ARB harness).
I could spend the time fishing this whole thing into the cabin and finding a place to mount the ARB on/off switch, but why? (Note that ARB actually
shows someone wiring the switch under the hood, but the instructions specifically say to keep it away from anywhere that could get wet, including the kick panels inside the cabin, so this seems like a terrible idea).
