I installed the ARB Deluxe front bull bar bumper on my LX570 last weekend. I still have some trim work (a bit of plastic cutting and lots of black trim edge) to do. It isn't perfect since I did it myself. I should not have followed the directions as the template for the LC and the LX didn't line up very well. There are larger gaps than I want on the sides. Oh well.

We did lots of testing and trimming up and down with the bumper on the front areas. I need to order more edging to trim it out nicely. I should have done the same for the side portions. For others considering this upgrade note that I did not keep hardly any of the original front bumper: It becomes 2 pieces that are separate and not one piece per the Land Cruiser instructions. The grille for the Lexus goes right to and rests on top of the ARB bumper.

Photos are on my website here. The headlight washers are working properly, although there is a tight fit on the washer housings underneath between the headlights and the ARB bumper. I still need to hook up the turn signal and parking lights in the bumper.

I'm having a bit of an issue with the parking sensors going off at random times. Another member of this forum and local buddy (@BROMO95) indicated his parking sensors broke when he installed them into his ARB. I mounted them while the bumper was on the ground rather than on the truck (mistake). I know they look too far back and on the sides of the bumper. Do you think this would influence the errant beeping?

Cheers!

Wife was nervous when I sent her this picture:

Not sure why the parking sensors being set to the side would cause them to go off erroneously, unless they're detecting the curb or other vehicles. Location itself shouldn't matter - you could install them in your drivers door if you really wanted to - but what they're pointing at could be an issue.

I would be mainly concerned with how the bumper touches the bottom of the grill. You might want to talk to slee since he has one of these on an LX, but the ARB bumper will flex differently than the body, which is why there's supposed to be a 1/2" gap, and if it's too close you may find it smashing up your grill.

FWIW if the bumper gap bothers you, you can buy a knock-off bumper on ebay, re-cut it, and have it painted to match.

Forgot to say check the wires on the plugs going into the sensors on the wire harness. One of mine was having intermittent issues and one wire had somehow been pulled a bit out of the harness so it would on occasion freak out and start beeping.

On the bumper if it does really bug you just keep watching ebay. You can generally get painted oem ones for around $200, just have to wait till your color pops up. I was hesitant to cut mine up at first and was also thinking aftermarket but then I saw how many oem ones were available in silver used for cheap so I figured I could always grab another if needed.

I won't drill new holes in the bumper to move the sensors forward until I diagnose other issues.

Thanks for the note about the grille, I will look into that with Slee.

Thanks for the info on the knock off bumper - I didn't realize that could be an option. I'm betting the OEM is more than what I paid for the ARB.

I will do that with the plugs on the sensors - thank you and good call! My buddy helped me with them and they were a tight fit - perhaps they are under too much pressure and throwing off the signals.

Would a winch still fit in there with the Lexus grill?

The winch will fit, but the controller box should go in a remote location under hood. I can easily reach my hands between the radiator and inside the bumper.
