I think the vibration issues you are experiencing were actually identified and corrected proactively during my install by Ollie @cruiseroutfit

I’d send you photos of his additional install steps if I was with my cruiser, but I’m sure he’d discuss over the phone.
Please share these details!

I’m installing my base rack this weekend.

Thanks.

Can you remove the splitter? That’s what I did on my aluminum one and it solved the vibration on the sunroof completely??

Oh awesome thanks! Do you think you could get photos? If not I can reach out and give @cruiseroutfit a call!

I just got back to my truck last night (took the Prius to Cali), covered in snow at the moment, but I can go snag a photo example of where they placed some material to dampen vibration, but their email response will likely be much better/detailed.

Pic would be awesome--can you tell there is a noticeable reduction in vibration with the material?

Cruiser Outfitters had another customer raise the issue of vibration so he took the extra step on mine proactively. I have never had any issues with vibration at all. The only reason I am aware of it is because Ollie mentioned the issue with others and told me to come back if I experienced it as well, but that he was confident I wouldn’t.

I have the full length rack as well. I haven't noticed glass vibration yet. Its pretty quiet (but for sure noticeable) with the sunroof and shade closed. Unbearable to have the sunroof open at all unless at very slow speed. I would like to use my sunroof and have considered going back to stock roof rack. I've wondered if a thule style fairing that slopes up to the rack from the top of the windshield would deflect the wind to eliminate the glass vibration and reduce the noise. Unfortunately i don't have one to try that theory out. I love the rack, don't love the fairing design - but maybe that is the best they could come up with.

Sounds about right, I couldn’t remember what was used, just mentioned he added some material to dampen vibrations based on the issues another customer had.

Doing it this weekend!
Installed mine and didn’t do the 3m tape fix and I’m getting the bad vibration so I’m going to add the tape this weekend. Install was fairly smooth, let me know if you have any questions!

Wanted to see if you ended up doing the install? I went through and put double sided tape between the mounting feet (long pieces that run front to back and bolt to the 4 brackets on either side of the roof) and the rack itself. I put tape everywhere there is metal on metal. I'm still getting the vibration/subwoofer sensation. I loosened the 8 rack nuts on either side and would lift it while I slide the tape under and place it at friction points. Maybe I didn't use a thick enough tape?

I'll also note that when I strapped a set of Maxtrax towards the front of the roof on top of a cross bar the noise was significantly reduced
