I've got a few coolant leaks from hose connections under my 62 . Very minor but I don't want to keep tightening band clamps and risk wrecking or cutting into the hoses, which seem to still be in good shape. Saw the Gates heat shrink hose clamps on Summit and was wondering if any of you guys have used them with good results.

Correction, the brand is actually Eddie Motorsports.

I’m running t-bolt clamps on my coolant lines.

I have used the constant torque clamps with good results...
Only draw back is that these are bulky AF.....

I've used them on several swaps, no issues. I've had a couple leak a little at first start up, a shot with the heat gun and no more problems. I also use them on quick lock AN fittings.

There are 9 in this photo that can be seen

nice and clean looking but a bad hose with a hose clamp is easy to fix on the side of the road at midnight

Have you used them in areas where you can't get the heat gun all the way around? I'm thinking the lower radiator hoses on my 3FE, which are another leak point I'm fighting with.

Interesting as I have recently had to tighten all of mine. Seems as though with the change of weather they were getting loose or they were just cheap junk from O'Reilleys. I can't believe I needed to tighten them. Never had to do that in the old days. What's a good quality clamp these days?

Hojack, where do you get those t-bolt clamps?

Amazon has them or any industrial hose supplier.

I have used the heat shrink clamps on truck stuff. They are reliable. The huge handicap is they are one use and done. gotta be cut off. You can find spring loaded hose clamps

never used them, can you save the hose while cutting the band off?

Yes, few hoses allow for a heat gun to be maneuvered 360 degrees around. No issues to date.

As mentioned above they do require cutting to remove.

Yes you can save the hose. But the clamp is destroyed when you remove it.

I heard about the Gates shrinkable clamps years ago, but have never seen them for sale, so I have stuck with either OEM clamps or the crappy worm-drive, sure-to-leak-on-the-first-cold-day clamps. Gates sure blew the marketing on those clamps.

Blew the market in a good way or in a bad way?

Has anyone ever seen these at any chain auto parts store? CarQuest? NAPA? I have not.

OK - I just searched and found them on Rock Auto: More Information for GATES 32915

would those be good to use on silicone hoses? I have a fresh set of silicone hoses for the husky 310 and don't really want to reuse the factory clamps, clean install and costs way less than a box of the constant torque clamps
